Add me to the list of owners with this problem. I just bought my truck but it is an early build. I work at the dealership and my truck is first one I've driven with this issue. Guys in service hadn't heard of it either. They just ordered a new seat track assembly. We'll see if that solves it.

Parts have been ordered to fix my seat as well. Before I brought it into service my seat was shifting from side to side and squeaked every time I shifted my weight. Funny thing is, since they "looked" at the issue my seat no longer moves and the noises are gone. I will say this for those with the issue...try raising and lowering your seat height. I messed around with different settings and found that certain seat heights were sturdier than others. I would raise and lower the seat, shift my weight violently from the side to side to encourage movement, then set my memory seats to the setting that didn't move. Sounds crazy and shouldn't be necessary for a 46k truck, but whatever works at this point is better than nothing.

If you read back, I had the same experience. The service rep said they found nothing wrong with my seat, but somehow through magic I guess it was solid as a rock for about 2 or 3 weeks after I picked it up from the dealer. Now the movement is back and feels like it's getting worse. I'm just going to keep driving it until the damn seat breaks off of its frame. Then I can take it in and they can't tell me again that they found nothing wrong with it.

I know it's ridiculous, but try the hose clamp fix. It helps with most of the movement...the squeaking was driving my nuts however. Before I brought it into service I removed the hose clamps so they would not have a reason to blame me for anything. I guess I will see how long the seat stays sturdy until my parts come in.

Yeah I plan to try the hose clamp method if I can ever find a free weekend in 2014 to do it. Between work and personal life I never have time to spend working on the truck like I want to. I also want to bolt open the stupid flapper valve in the exhaust.

I hear ya brother, all work no play.

Yep. Ironically that's why I bought a 2014 Silverado thinking with a new vehicle, I'd spend less time worrying about repairs and taking it to the dealer so I can focus on other areas of my life. Boy was I wrong.....

I'm not sure if I'm experiencing the dreaded seat issues, or if I'm just being paranoid...looking for some feedback.

I just noticed today that when i hit the brakes hard my seat seemed to move forward a little bit and i heard a bit of a sound. I didn't have an issue going around corners (that I can recall...but I can't say I took too many big turns "at speed), nor did I have the issues with soft braking.

I do have my seat up really high (recently adjusted it that way within the past week or so). The truck has a 01/14 build date, and I purchased it ~3.5 months ago. I never noticed it before today..so not sure if my mind is going crazy or if there is an issue or not.

Yep. Welcome to the club. Try adjusting your seat around. You might find a sweet spot. I don't think your crazy.

Will the hose clamps prevent the seat from shifting forward & backward, or are they only intended to prevent the seat from shifting side to side?

Side to side mostly, although it did feel like it stiffened the seat up altogether as a whole. I still think adjusting it until you find the sweet spot has worked the best for me. Going on a week with no movement...

Ughhh, I know the feeling all too well. At least it's under warranty for the meant time. I will unfortunately be selling this truck as soon as the odo hits 36k.

I'm really hoping this works for me. My seat got all jacked up and apparently I didn't set the seat memory correctly...when I re-adjusted it I know it was up higher. I was issue free for ~3 months before it was raised higher than normal; crossing my fingers that lowering it a bit solves the issue.

For those that have had the bulletin repair done, does your seat feel correct after? I had the repair done, but I am convinced the seat is either crooked, or one side of the seat is higher than the other. I'm anal about my vehicles and something just doesn't feel right. My wife thinks I'm crazy, but that's pretty standard :) I can't put my finger on it yet, I've had the level out and the tape measure, but something just feels off now.

    • Some clarification may help with some of these issues.   - Rev Industries is/was the division of BAK (now Realtruck) that makes covers under the OEM names.  So if you see one with a Ford logo on it, or if you are buying the GM Accessories cover, you are essentially buying a BAK G2 cover with different branding.   - Rev Industries now markets under RealTruck "Advantage."   - As of May 1, 2025, the Advantage covers now have a 5 year warranty.  Anything before that was a 36/36K warranty.   - Parts for the covers are available from Realtruck or BAK.  The email address to reach them is [email protected] or you can call them at 818-365-9000   - If the entire cover has to be replaced, you have to go through your local GM dealer.  Service dept opens an RO, notes the damage and submits it as a warranty claim.  Keep your paperwork handy so they can confirm when you purchased it and it's within the warranty timeframe.  Once the warranty claim is approved, Parts orders the replacement cover.  When it arrives at the dealership, service will remove and install the new one for free as labor is included under warranty.   - The Advantage covers are not the latest and greatest Gen 3 covers.  They still use the old school clamps, elevator bolts, etc...If you want the newer technology, consider buying your cover in the aftermarket world.  That way, if you have an issue you can deal directly with the manufacturer.   - Finally, RealTruck has a program with many of their authorized dealers that doubles the warranty to 10 years if the authorized dealer does the install.     Hope this helps.
    • Welcome to the group!  My '22 just crossed 150K miles.  Runs perfectly.  Oil pump belt will be done in the next 30 days or so and onward hopefully for another 150K.  Love the truck.
    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!
