Need to have warranty cases opened on problem at dealer. So all that are not liking the FM/HD really need to get to a dealer. that is the main driving force for GM. Not the forum. Also dealer maybe just saying such.

I agree. Dealer and GM needs to be notified.

I'm getting fed up with this DAMN Radio! $45,000 truck and the damn AM and FM radio SUCKS! I just got back for the second time at my dealership.

1st time - Didn't find anything, tightened the antenna, bring it back and we can look closer.

2nd time - You need new speaker in the front dash, they are causing the interefence. They should be in in a week. Well, a week later they come in and install the speakers. Sounds the same if no WORSE!. They even tried adjusting the Treble, Mid-range, Bass well below the middle to hgelp curb any crackling.

I had to rush to a meeting so I couldn't show the techs there is still a major problem. I listen to AM radio 90% of the time, and it's getting to the point where I get mad every single time. I'm about ready to drive this truck, park it in the middle of the service center/new car area and say fix it and don't call me before its done. I'm tired of driving back and forth to the dealership. Sorry for the rant, but this is B.S!

Step up to the plate GM if this is "Professional Grade"

I had all four door speakers replaced with Kenwood speakers. Sounds much better than the speakers that came with my truck. Men at the stereo shop said the stock speakers were of poor quality. This plus poor reception is unacceptable in a $44,000 truck.

I bought my truck last week and I like FM radio and i have the same issue as you guys do. Same time I am driving, I get a text from my dealership asking if I love the truck and if anything happens or there is any issues let them know. I guess I will be making them a call first thing monday. I paid enough and this small / cheap thing should not be an issue. I will be showing them this thread and demanding GM be notified.

I wonder how they tested this, via being 2 miles away from a HD station?

Yesterday I spoke to the COO of Ibiquity (the HD radio people) in Detroit. He gave me to the gentleman that is the direct contact guy with GM. He is as angry as we are. First because he knows about the problems and he knows GM is not acting quickly enough to make this right. He knows this is hurting the HD brand. He believes the severity of this problem is vehicle specific, Sierra and Silverado. The problem is that once GM officially acknowledges this (or other problems) it becomes a matter of public record. Then the floodgates open and it costs them money. If they continue to tell people this is the way it is supposed to be many will accept that and go away. He says they will continue to press GM on this matter. He was appalled when I told him of the one dealers idea of a solution was to turn down the sound settings so the in and out reception would not be as noticeable. Meanwhile he says about all we can do is to continue to complain to the dealers. When the people there get tired of the complaints and telling customers there is nothing wrong, maybe they will start pressing the higher ups for a fix. If you got lucky and have one that works, great. If you got one that does not work as designed please continue to press the dealers for a fix. He also offered that if any one with a problem with HD lives near the Detroit offices they would like to see this first hand in your trucks, this could better help them with R&D. You can see the address for that office on the Ibiquity home page. Please be nice to them they are trying to help us.

The gentleman I spoke with last month did say that was the problem. This time we did discuss that but mostly we talked about trying to get it solved. I told him about some people were told that if they tried to replace or modify the system it would void the warranty. How frustrated we were about the working as designed speech and that no matter how many people have reported problems GM says they never heard of it. He is not happy with the way things are. While he /they are aware of this They would like to see a couple of the worst trucks first hand. When he hung up he was on his way to a meeting with other HD guys and some GM people so he would bring it up again. If a couple of you would like to make the trip PM me and I can give you the guys # maybe he really will see you. He seemed concerned, who knows. He said he would keep me in the loop if any thing were to break loose.

My 2014 Silverado Double Cab has the FM radio situation where the station will play fine while driving and then suddenly begin to drop out and sometimes come back in and then drop out again and stay out until I stop and start the truck. When I tune to a HD station it will turn ON and OFF as I drive and that seems independent of losing the FM station completely. I have a note to bring this up with the dealer service dept.

This is pretty much the problem we all have on this thread. I'll bet you a coffee in the waiting room they tell you you are the first and it is operating as designed. The HD radio people assure me it is not the way they designed it.

If there is a better cable available I will buy it and either install it myself or have the dealer install it. Has anyone tried a antenna that is a combo CB/FM antenna?

I also have the reception issue; I noticed when i turn on the fog light the radio is affected. This is possible grounding issue?

GM has recommended an antenna booster. Should be here in about a week.
