issue 2014 rough engine idle

I wouldn't be happy with that, you shouldn't be paying anything more than the difference in MSRP, on a trade assist, the rebates don't matter GM is basically making you a new truck and taking your old one.

I agree that I should not have paid anymore than the difference. However, I'd rather pay the extra $400 and change on one of the rebates and call it a day. The way I see it, I haven't paid for gas or even made a payment on the truck and I have it over a month. It wasn't worth it to keep fighting at that point. Still feel I got an overall good deal and I'm happy with the truck I'm getting.

Thats what I'm saying though, the rebates dont make any difference what so ever, the only thing you are required to do is pay the difference in MSRP which would be your upgraded truck. They also have to move all of your accessories over or reimburse you for them so they aren't doing you any favors lol.

I ended up paying $179 over MSRP difference. But, because I bought the truck on Oct. 2nd, I ended up qualifying for a $700.00 Costco (warehouse store) gift card promotion. I think things workout out pretty well.

I would get the check engine light problem address before worrying about the rough idle. They maybe related as whatever emission device tripped the check engine light, may have been defective for so many start cycles before tripping the CEL and maybe the cause of the rough idle.

I'd say thats a pretty rough idle !

I had the shims put on the engine mounts earlier this week. They didn't seem to help the rough idle.

Has anybody gotten this fixed yet w/o trading the truck? Mine shudders pretty bad still, almost feels like a misfire but no CEL or codes. Doesn't fdo it that bad once warmed up to 210. If you open the hood, you can visibly see it shaking through.

the only thing that helped eliminate my idle vibration was having Blackbear tuning raise my idle RPM from 500 to 600. Not my truck idles smooth as glass.

Good deal, I have a diablo and I know I can adjust idle rpms as well, maybe I will give that a shot. It isnt bad once warmed up, but while its on its way to 210 deg it sometimes shudders pretty bad a feels like its going to conch out. I will also use the diablo to check to see if there are any stored codes that didn't trigger the CEL.

I had them do the same thing with my tune. 500 RPM is too low for a V8 to idle smoothly IMO. 600 is minimum.

The idle RPM gradually drops as it reaches 210 degrees, that is why you'll only feel it when its 100% warmed up. I'm convinced its to help with emission checks as Park and Neutral are both set at 600RPM.

IDK about the 8's but with my 6, they adjusted the timing, the cross pipe into the cat, and that helped. it didnt eliminate it 100%, but it helped
