My 2009 6.2L has 125000 km on it now, and it's been tuned since I had 5000 km on it. Tune is definitely not mild as I'm running 93 octane gas, torque management is turned off and the truck will bark the tires shifting into 2nd and 3rd gear. Other mods include headers and exhaust.

Drivetrain is still running great, transmission doesn't miss a beat. Had the tranny filter and fluid done awhile back and no issues to report.

Tires are a different story, I'm now buying factory takeoff 275/55/20 Bridgestone Alenza tires off of Kijiji/Craigslist since people are effectively giving them away and I'm constantly wearing out my rears, haha.

Yes, that shouldn't be an issue.

Jenna quick question for BlackBear. So I understand that all I need is a tune to enable E85 in my 2014 6.2L Silverado. But if I were to purchase the sensor would it be possible to switch between E85 and 93 without switching my tunes? So basically it would act like a 2014/2015 5.3L that is flex fuel capable? Also, what is the GM part number for the flex fuel sensor?

You are correct, you will need the tune and an alcohol sensor. You can switch between fuel, however, you should run at least 7 miles after each reset, for the computer to learn. I am not sure of the part number, I would have to check with the guys.

Well I am going to attempt my data logging tomorrow... After several weeks I think I have a grip on what to do.

My question is that when I am doing the data logging, will both files will be generated at the same time or will I have to do something different?

Jenna if you could get the GM part number I would greatly appreciate that. I'd love to run some $1.60 E85 and get some extra power! Also, I see you guys have an event in October over in Atlanta, GA I think I'll be signing up for a tuning session then. Do I need to purchase a spare module aka the AutoCal?

There are three different ones to choose from, check out forums for your 2014 to see which one would be best.

EFI Connection.com has one, off the top of our head.

Heads up to anyone looking to get a Blackbear custom tune. BB running a $40 off this labor day weekend.

Purchased my tune on Wednesday...fail.

Also their website seems to be down so can't get to the instructions for starting the data log. *Biting my nails :(*

I bit the bullet and finally plugged my old InTune from my GTO into the Sierra yesterday. Played with a few settings, but mainly just straight canned Diablo tune and Firm shift trans tune.

Truck didn't explode. GM didn't call me through the Onstar to tell me I angered the warranty gods. It was a good day.

I'm so unsatisfied with the performance of my truck. I've been back to the dealer several times complaining about the hesitation, the bogging/lagging at slow speeds in traffic, and the poor shifting. It most often feels like I'm driving a stick shift vehicle in 3rd gear when i should be in 2nd gear and waiting for the RPMs to to finally catch up and meet the correct gear. The dealer opened another ticket, called GM and I was told its "a normal characteristic of the truck" if they are no codes or troubles there is nothing they can do to help me...GM even said drive another new one to compare, I did, and it did the same things (but mine seems to do it a lot more often and worse)

So I'm forced to either trade it in and take a huge loss on 3 month old $53k truck or after reading the last 46 pages of this forum, tuning my truck to make it drive like it probably should have from the factory.....the BIG catch being I MIGHT lose my warranty...I really want to believe that Diablo could be undetectable or maybe Black Bear has a way around the dealer seeing a tune, buts a huge gamble...the devil on one shoulder say "TUNE IT" the angel says suck it up and live with it...

The service writer says he would work with me, knowing might complaints, if i tuned it for most warranty items, but a catastrophic failure would be a grey area and GM has the final say if they find anything in the codes regarding a tune

(who's to say that service write dosen't work there in a year though)

So is Diablo correct , they are really undetectable? Does Black Bear have a way around it also? they seem to be the 2 I'd have to go with....i don't have the time or experience to write my own tune, etc...

I just want to NOT HATE DRIVING MY TRUCK!

So long as you return the vehicle to stock, you should have no issues.

(Just had my 2013 Denali XL, lowered, TVS2300, meth kit into the dealer for a warranty issue with my shock absorber. No issues at all with the warranty.)

I'm more concerned about a warranty issue with power train...they wouldn't be looking into your ECM if have a suspension issue etc, i would hope....but if i have a bad injector, or a some sort of engine/transmission issue, that's what concerns me... if they look (like i assume they would) even after returning to stock, will they find something to crucify me with....

Had lifters replaced on my 2010 Denali. With a tune...

Bottom line, depends on your dealer and how much of a stickler they want to be. But, they will also have to prove that the tune was the source of the problem.
