For those who have the 6.2, did you up your rev limit? I mean our engine is the same as the vettes and doesnt the vette run out to 6800? Just ordered my tuner, but not even sure I will be able to adjust WOT shift points anyway without trans support.

 

I have the diable tune that's installable but I can't tweak anything like tire size or shift points or redlines or AFM or anything like that.

 

Our engine isn't exactly the same as the corvette LT1, I know that the intake, exhaust, an oiling setup are different on the truck. Torque peak is 500rpm lower as well.

the Z51 has a dry sump but the non Z51 has a wet sump just like the truck.

 

intake manifold is different and exhaust system is different (of course - car vs truck, Ypipe vs Xpipe).

 

truck makes 40 less HP when stock.

I posted this in another thread but this one has more following so I figured I would as here too.

When I first installed my Diablo, I didnt install a tune, but just turned off torque management and afm. Quite pleased with the way it was performing. So I decided to install the 87 flex tune with afm and tm turned off. The truck seems to be shifting from 2nd-3rd at only about 1800-1900 rpms and bogging the truck down. I know I can up the shift point rpms but I don't really want to mess with the canned tune parameters. The truck with the 87 tune seems like it can't figure out which gear to be in. Anybody else have this happen or experience this and what did you do to fix it? Seems to be a relatively widespread issue on the Diablo Forum. Thanks in advance!

I don't see why I shouldn't be able to. I need to contact diablosport again, at first I couldn't program my truck at all and they had to give me an update. I haven't even hit 1,000 miles so I'm not too worried about tuning it before it's even broken in.

So how would you up the shift point rpms? From what I've seen in the settings, you can up the shift point rpm only for wide open throttle for both normal and tow/haul. I didn't see anything for some intermediate position throttle adjustment.

I'm not saying you are incorrect but I think I remember there are settings for both part throttle and WOT for both normal and tow/haul for the rpm's. I recall thinking dang it I need to go in and set it 10 times just for normal mode and then thinking I'm not gonna bother with 10 additional times for the tow/mode settings. In the end I left all these rpm shift points at the defaults. And yep I recall the throttle boost setting is just a single setting overall.

What TCM tune did you choose? I'm currently using the 87/flex ECM tune and the firm TCM tune w/ AFM off, TM off, throttle boost +12. I have not noticed a bog down with this setup but overall my impression of it is it isn't anything great, not a lot of wow factor in this tune. I dont really like this current setup and will be changing it soon. I only tried it out to get a good baseline mpg vs E85 so I know my true cost savings.

 

I might be getting these threads mixed up but I think TM left on actually runs better personally and seems other say this too.

 

The one time I noticed a "bog down" when it shifted was right after they released/added the flex part into their tunes earlier this spring. I was using the diablo 91/flex tune w/ E85. I sent Diablosports a few logs. They fixed my tune files and I never noticed it again. They said it was a TM issue in the tune they released.

 

The rpm shift points I never really noticed or got a good feel for if it made any difference when I adjusted them up a little.

 

The setup I like best is the diablo 91/flex tune using E85, firm shift, AFM off, TM on, throttle +12. This is what I'll stick with long term. It just runs great on my truck.

I also read that the fuel trims need time to adjust. Don't know if this could have something to do with what you are experiencing. The truck learning again. And not adjusted to what you have it set to.

Nope no real reason I never tried 15. I actually started at like 2 or 3 and kept going up a little at a time to see what felt good. Got up to 10 and I liked it. I read some others were going even higher so I went to 12 and like that too so just stuck with it.

I got my diablo intune the other day and was frustrated when it couldn't read my PCM, but after emailing support they were able to fix that. However, I installed the tune and it doesn't give me any adjustable parameters at all. After it installs the ECM tune the Intune just reboots. I emailed Diablo and they said thats normal. I'm kind of pissed about that as the main reason I bought it was for the throttle booster and AFM disable.

 

Anyone else with a 6.2 able to adjust parameters other then just load a tune?

 

BTW drove the truck and it felt exactly the same after the tune..

That seems kind of weird. Must be something with the 6.2L. My truck is a 5.3L and I have 87 flex tunes 91 flex tune all kinds of adjustable parameters in the ECM. I also have firm shift and hardshift for the TCM and all kinds of adjustable parameters within the TCM.

My '15 LTZ is shifting 6400 RPM and loves it. I am 100% stock minus the tune but I think that a good Intake and exhaust will be some good supporting mods, and probably show some respectable number gains on the dyno.
