Yes, with the AutoCal and scan cable tunes, all tunes are built based on the datalogs you send over.

We send different octane tunes over. However, with the compression ratio of your 5.3L, you should be running a minimum of 89 for optimal results, even on the stock tune.

Our tune updates are free.

Thank you both for such quick responses... One last question:

Are these AutoCal's vin locked? My reason for asking is that if I can't get the trans rebuilt by the dealer (which right now is a good possibility) I have in my mind to trade because I am REALLY unhappy with the trans.

If I understand correctly I would need to purchase another license??

Is there a forum where I can read up on this AutoCal tuner?

So one needs to purchase the AutoCal & scan cable... Anything else need be purchased? The web page states "tuning services included".

I don't see a great need to change from one tune to another, but my thinking was after exploring different octane tunes I would then most likely run one tune a majority or the time. Again the trans operation is what I am looking for the most change in!

The EFI Live AutoCal states "Programming of a wide range of 1998-2010+ GM vehicles" so I need to confirm, mine is a 2014.

I also see that it states "Full 2007+ GM 6L80E/6L90E 6 speed transmission tuning support" which is my main concern. Is there any additional adjustment offer by AutoCal than what InTune offers???

I have not seen much on the use of different tunes for different needs, only something with the tow/haul mode with gives the trans different commands and I assume it is for other than my needs... I don't race my truck. With my Borla muffler I want to hear them snappy shifts!

For someone on the fence on this are you offering and special deals that my push me over the edge right now to purchase??? Do you offer forum members any discounts?

I did have the Diablew in a basket but still hesitating...

Bro...dont think it over too much....Just get it done...you will not regret it. It will be night and day difference in driveability for your truck. I ve done the muffler delete and too noticed what you call "hear them snappy shifts" I just did not know hot to describe them...lol.

Well, I am still reading on the EFILive forum... I read the End User doc and it must have been late because I was totally confused... So I have the pdf file up right now and I am reading over it... Just a lot of info all at once to take in. You buy the AutoCal then have to download a program to download additional files to update the AutoCal itself. Then you have to hook it to the vehicle and etc, etc, etc...

It's a lot for someone who is just wanting a better shifting trans to absorb. I need some instruction to read over so I can be sure I know what the heck I am doing before I leap.

I briefly read the forum for step by step instructions and seen post from guys that can't start the vehicles after tuning and I certainly don't want that to be my case. A lot to learn here...

I had Justin tune mine when he was in town...I have not had to mess with it yet, but from what I understand...its fairly straight foward.

Get auto cal device.

Download free EFIlive software to your laptop.

Log data..ie full throttle,cruise etc.

Email Blackbear the files.

He will look it over and "fix" lags etc and couple them with BlackBears proprietary tune adjustments tailored to your desires. He will email back the new files to you.

You download the new files to your autocal.

Finally upload the new tunes to your truck using your autocal.

And then enjoy...

When you purchase your AutoCal from Black Bear you will get a link to a secure page that walks you step by step on exactly what you need to do including screen shots. It's a little involved but just follow the detailed instructions.

OK, so no tune to get started with... Not until you data log and ask for specific tune needs, correct?

Yes, since each tune specifically designed for each truck

I know you have probably read, but I had my tune done by Black Bear at first and it completely transformed the truck. Way more fun to drive, way more torque available, and faster for sure.

Like the guys have said, we have detailed instructions for our customers. The link and log in info, will be included in the AutoCal box. The guys also preconfigure the AutoCals now, so that is one less step for you to worry about.

Yes, no tunes are on the AutoCal, everything is built specific to your vehicle.

For those who have the 6.2, did you up your rev limit? I mean our engine is the same as the vettes and doesnt the vette run out to 6800? Just ordered my tuner, but not even sure I will be able to adjust WOT shift points anyway without trans support.
