gjk1932 I think there is a problem with all Goodyear tires that come on these trucks. My truck came with the Goodyear Eagle LS-2 tires. I am glad to hear that some of you have swapped the tires to another brand and have either fixed the issue completely or reduced it to a non-issue.

I have no further updates since my last post since I haven't made any trips after getting my truck back three weeks ago. I've been working 70+ hrs a week and haven't had any time to just get out on the road to test the tires or make a trip. I may get a trip in this weekend, so I might have a conclusion on the fix I got next week. I've been thinking about replacing the tires but haven't had the time to do so or the want to spend the money. I'll make that decision after I get a long trip in.

Update: Just was informed that GM has advised the dealership to change out the Torque converter and the Transmission Control Module. My truck should be ready on Tuesday. In the mean time they have given me another 2014 sierra as a loaner....I am interested to see if in the time I have this truck if I notice the same vibration.

As far as tires go, I think we may be talking about two different issues here. The problem I am experiencing (as well as some others on this thread) is intermittent at speed, not a continuous vibration that occurs above a certain speed. If the later is the case, then yes I agree, the first thing I would look at is a problem with tires (or possibly the drive shaft). The problem I am having does not occur every time I am at a certain speed or operating under the same conditions (i.e. it only seems to happen under moderate power between 50 and 65, but does not occur everytime I am under moderate power between 50 and 65).

As always, I'll keep you posted of the findings/results.

My z71 package is pretty stiff as well and ended up being stiffer than the std package truck I test drove. I had to have the Z71 grill, so shocks I can change back to twin tube for smoother ride at anytime:)

Well it has been about 200 miles since the dealer swapped the goodyears for Bridgstones and yes the wobble is gone, but I have to say this is the worst truck ever. The steering wheel is not smooth there is a constant slight vibration that is not tire related and even the smallest cracks in the road feel like you are hitting giant pot holes and the whole truck bounces. Every little thing is felt directly through the steering wheel.

If anyone is reading this post DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE!!! I have had at least 10 chevy and GMC trucks and never had such an awful time driving a vehicle as this one. Can't wait to trade out of it.

Mine is quieter and smoother than my last three Infinitis. Sounds like you got a bad one.

What are you driving?

Your steering senses what the tires send thru to the steering components. Save your trade loss by going and getting some good Michelins LTX tires and a good road force balance. Brigs are not that good. Discount gave me a good price trade on mine. I drove from the dealership straight to Discount and had Michelins put on the same day I picked up my truck.

then if we can find some Bilstein 5100s for these '14s you should be good.

Just to update everyone on the rumble strip vibrations I was experiencing. I got the truck back 2 days ago and so far so good. Here is what the dealer reported:

Road tested vehicle and found possible tire/wheel vibration. Removed all four wheels and road force balanced to find one tire out of range. This tire was replaced and then vehicle was road tested again. The vibration improved but was not eliminated. Checked for TSB's and none were found that directly addressed this concern. Contacted TAC and TAC suggested to utilize TBS PIP5149B. I followed all instructions of this TSB, checking for excessive spark retardation and connecting rod oil squitter condition. There were no conditions observed. TAC then directed me to utilize DOC ID#2102430 where I checked the operation of the control solenoid within the transmission. When commended to the on position, It registered full pressure and when commanded off it registered 0 pressure. After completing all tests found that TCM could not be 'pulse-width' tested, only command on or off. With these measurements we determined that the TCM was sending an erratic signal causing the torque converter to be commanded erratically. This caused potential damage to torque converter. Therefore, I replaced the TCM (Signal) and torque converter (damaged internally). Road tested vehicle; now operating to GM specifications with no vibration when tested under the original conditions.

I have also noticed that the "floating Tac" condition I had earlier is no longer present.

Yes. When the cruise was set on a steady up hill climb the tachometer would float I.e. kind of fluctuate in a range of RPMs; not hold steady.

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
