Wow...I have a standard bed (two piece drive shaft) and have had nothing but issues with the vibration. So far they have replaced Wheels, tires, driveshaft, changed pinion angle, and changed spacer on driveshaft...been in the dealership now for over 5 weeks. I paid 50K for a piece of SHIT truck and now GM wants to trade me out for something else. I was told the issues were in the Standard Bed (two piece drive shaft) so now I hear that its a short box it makes me skeptikal. Not sure what to do....

Man that is tuff. I would not be very happy with this either. All I can say is have you had someone besides the dealership look at the tires and do a road force balance? On my 90 GMC sub, when new, we put on two sets of Michelins trying to stop vibration. I finally just took the second set on the truck to a good tire shop and dang no vibration after a good balance. Good luck on this. Maybe another truck as some/most here are OK?

Well just got off the phone with my dealer and shop Forman asked me when I could go test drive another 2014 Silverado off there lot so I could feel that they all had the same vibration. wow what trucks did we buy?

Spoke to Gm specialist and they told me there is no fix at the moment we are stuck with our vibrating trucks till they find solution. Has anyone heard anything else? What is your dealership telling you?

Harmonic vibration? Next time you feel it listen. It sounds like a sub woofer at a low frequency. I hear it the most while in 4 cylinder mode. This frequency could be created in the exhaust, or driveline causing most likely the cab to vibrate. If the cabs of these trucks have a low harmonic frequency that matches a slight vibration in the truck it could amplify it resulting in us hearing and feeling it.

I've had my Sierra Crew Cab since late July and noticed the vibration shortly after purchasing . It now has 8950 miles on it and its been back to the dealer twice and they don't know what to do. I bought my truck to drive not sit at the dealership . I told them to do some research before I bring it back again . Still waiting for a call. I think its time to contact the attorney general about the lemon law.

I also have a Sierra.

So far the TCM and torque converter replacement seems to have solved my issues. The deal just called today to ask how it was running (bout 3 weeks and 500 miles since replacemet). The also said that GM would l like them to flush out the tranny again and check to make sure everything still looks good. Dropping it off Friday.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
