talked to my service guy while my truck was in the shop for recall he said "yea we have fixed a few of these already so we'll get yours fixed up also".

I had my truck into the dealership a few weeks ago for seat movement issues and it seems they added two small clips to fasten the seat cushion to the frame. At first it seemed it may be better (I think it was psychological), but I now have movement in the seat again. I see the clips are still there, but I get seat movement (lateral and forwards/backwards, not up and down) in turns and braking. It definitely feels like the bracket to me as the movement is small but sudden and clunks, not smooth like the cushion is sliding. Every time I get in the seat clicks/clunks a little in a manner that makes it seem as if it is taking up the slack in the bracket bushings or pivot points.

Anyone who has had the actual seat bracket replaced have any better luck fixing the issue?

is it the same bracket without a fix to address the slop in the bracket?

This is ridiculous to have this happen on such an expensive vehicle. I know it is a new model blah blah blah, but things like this fall under the basic fundamentals. Figure out how to make a seat!!! Venting over....Thanks for the help and otherwise I love the truck so far, but get frustrated over such elementary things going wrong.

My dealer said seat movement in my Sierra is typical at this time...within GM spec.

Ive had mine in 4 times for the seat and have had the clips installed etc with no luck, actually seat moves more now they've taken it apart and put it back together. I've seen some other guys talk about having seat frames and brackets replaced but no one seems to be able to provide actual part numbers for these fixes so I'm at a loss.. Does anyone have any part numbers for these seat frames or seat brackets? or support bars? Thank you very much in advance...

My parts are in and I am taking my truck in on Wed. Lets see how this goes.

Also is anyone else having a problem with the seat cushion folding up along the outside of your legs. When I get in and out of the truck the seat cushions just folds and doesn't return to it's normal shape.

My seat has this same shifting/clicking problem. I have an appointment Wednesday to drop it off and have them look at that, fix a rust spot on the frame they missed, and check the balance on my tires. I will report back on what they say.

Do you have an update on the seat issue?

The dealer said they couldn't recreate the problem or feel what I was describing. They checked all nuts and bolts and said everything is solid and secure. The funny part is I haven't felt the movement or clicking since I picked it up so I dunno.

Tell the dealer to find a 300+lb guy and have him wiggle around in the seat while driving the truck at a considerable speed into a sharp turn. I am sure this will help recreate the problem.

The movement I'm getting after the repair is different. It feels like something heavy is moving or shifting in the seat itself. Maybe the weights for the alert motors or perhaps the fan assy

I'm only 185 lbs and it was doing it for me on every turn. Now it isn't. I think they tightened something up inadvertently. I don't know why they would tell me they found nothing, but the problem is fixed.....for now anyway.

Just got back from second trip to dealership for mine. They replaced the track first trip and since then it has been making a loud clicking sound with every movement. The service guy was able to recreate this and they looked at it. After 3 hours at dealership he said they have a TSB about this and they think it's orientating from within the seat but not sure. He said they left my ticket open and will call me whenever they have a fix for it. He said GM took all my info and maybe contacting me also, whatever that means.

    • My truck is a ¾ ton but my placard also says 80 for the rear tires, I think I might have the upgraded suspension to the 3500 series maybe.   I put my air down to 60 and the light was still on, and there was no way I was putting over 60 psi in the rear empty and not towing because I knew the actual number Toyo gave me and I didn't wanna ruin the center of my tires!   And you actually can change it in the settings from metric or is and it will show kph or mph then when you go into your tire settings it will be either psi or kpa, but it would be nice to just change it directly on the tire psi page
    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
