4X4Sierra5.3,

Hello! I am sorry to learn that you are experiencing an issue with your vehicle regarding the seat moving. I am more than happy to look into this concern for you. Could you private message me referencing this thread and include your contact information, VIN, exact mileage, and preferred dealership?

Jennifer T.

GM Customer Care

Hi Jennifer,

I bought my 2015 Tahoe in July of 2014. I noticed not 3 months later it was making clicking noise as I was turning. My husband noticed it also when he drove it. It also happens on the passenger side. I took it to Faulkner Ciocca in PA where we bought it and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I am seat paranoid. I had a 2012 GMC Acadia that phyically hurt my tailbone to drive. I got rid of that for the Tahoe. I like to drive the Tahoe but the seat issue is well a pain in the butt!. It almost sounds like it is moving on the thread of a bolt or something like that. Not a big movement but still moves. They told me that they tightened all the bolts on both the driver and passenger seats but they still make the noise when turning. I noticed this not 3000 miles. I drive a lot so I have many miles on it now. Is there anything I can tell the dealer to look for so I can have this issue resolved?

Thanks,

Jayne

My drivers seat bottom has started shifting in turns. It's quite noticeable.

I had my seat "fixed" by my local dealership, and now the problem is slowly coming back.

I would like for a GM Rep to pm me to discuss this further. I dont have the time to keep going back and forth to the dealership.

Yea good luck. These reps are totally useless and have no bearing or significance on getting the problem fixed.

I had mine to the dealer today and they said that they have to get a new seat for it. i find it hard to believe that will fix the issue. I guess only time will tell with this. I will keep you all posted on if it was fixed when the new seat comes in or if that one will do the same dang thing.

^ Please do. Im beyond pissed off now with this recurring seat issue. Mine seems to be getting worse by the day. May have to go back thru this thread and find the hose clamp fix and try that.

Had mine fixed about three months ago.

It's worse now. However, it no longer clicks and moves during turns. It does it on acceleration now.

I'm on my 3rd fix ..got a new seat frame this time. Only time will tell :) 9500 miles in.

Mine is the same, no longer clunks when turning. It's now popping when accelerating/slowing down.

Yup I'm writing the dealer about it now.

Is the problem with the '14's only and the early '15's as well? Does anyone with a later '15 have any problems? Just wondering if anything was changed on the later '15 seats.

Just wait. I've had mine in three times. At first they said it was normal. They eventually fixed it. Now I've got 36,000 miles on my '14 and it's worse than ever.

Same problem here. Dealer finally installed a new frame. 6 trips to the dealer, seems to be holding for now.

I couldn't stand it any more and had dealer make the repair.

It would have taken a full week but, said I had to wait in line due to dealer being sooo busy - B.S. Either they forgot or they didn't want there 3rd party warranty to go thru ( the same I had to call and get approval for) . They must have forgotten because they didn't get the parts. Took truck in for the second week and after waiting another week and till after closing they go the job done and it seems to be doing the job.

Next:

Spark Plug wires falling off

Transmission/rearend/ujoints... slamming when letting off gas or going down hill.
