Hats off to your inginuety but you guys are making this much more complicated than it needs to be. Take to the dealer and let them fix it. I have done about 10 of these and not one customer has come back bitchin'. Takes about an hour. You might even wait till the '16s come out and check them out while yours is being fixed.

So I was able to solve the seat movement issue as a few others with hose clamps. I bought 2 - 1" hose clamps, and 2 - 3/4" rubber clamps and slid the rubber off of those and onto the hose clamps. I bu

Hi Tbarn, Thanks for your post. Can you tell us what is involved in the dealer (GM) repair of these seats? Does the seat have to come out of the truck and what parts are installed/swapped that anchor the lower seat pad/frame so it does not shift around?

 

have you seen this on 14's and 15's?

Are you reading this thread or are you just being an ASS? People have taken their TIME and trucks to the dealers to fix(me included) and the problem still persists.

 

Nice way to rub salt in the wounds by suggesting to "take a look at the 16's while ours are being fixed"....you sound like a douche lol

Sounds like you need to find another dealer. Pretty sure anyone that has had the latest fix to correct the seat movement issue hasn't had any further problems, me included.

I'll stand by a 100% success rate using the bulletin. Seems to me you should find another dealer. And maybe some quaaludes.

For the record, you can't lol your way out of calling someone a douche.

Quite a few people have complained that the problem has come back after the fix. I would guess that the little round plastic retainer has broken. The tsb should install two plastic retainers, one that simulates the hose clamp trick and one that is a tiny little round white piece of plastic used as a shim. It should also include removing the seat and lubing the shaft to reduce creaking.

Ok Guys,

I had my Tahoe to the dealer today for the seat fix. They said they put the shims in. So on the way home I made sure I was taking a lot of turns. Didn't feel any movement. They didn't have my order ready so they are mailing it to me or so they say. They were also supposed to do the passenger seat too. I guess when my hubby is driving I will get a chance to see if they actually did fix it. I will definitely keep you up to date on if it starts up again. From what I can tell if it does it doesn't take too long. I have 21,000 on my 2015 so I am sure I will be driving a lot. :flag:

Barn, what makes this so complicated is this should not be a problem for all these GM customers to deal with this type of defect. The seats should be recalled and make the seat/frame manufactures pay for the repairs, waiting, rental car... And throw in an incompetent dealer that knows zero about customer satisfaction - and you wonder why so many people are pissed off. I waited one week and the dealer forgot to order parts, took another week to complete repairs!!! I see problem is now reaching into the new Yukon/Suburban.

I had my dealer fix the seat movement issue and the fix lasted for about 2 weeks. It is now worse than it was when I brought it in...

 

Update...I just took the time to actually look at the fix and noticed the tab on the new retainer clip had popped out of place. It looks like it is going to keep happening so I am going to resort to the hose clamp fix.

      Well that book won't sell many copies. Taking ones right foot off the loud pedal never gets applause. Funny really, It isn't that people don't know what to do...they just don't want to do it. But they will complain about it. About bad craftsmanship, about the cost of fuel, about the cost of part and repairs and mainly they complain that the solution while still possible isn't one they are willing to do.    I observe this daily. 'Gas cost to much!", they wail, while they mat it passing at 80+ mpg and scoot down the road like gas cost a dime a gallon. Then complain about the few that will lift and save both fuel and iron like they are owed and own the road.    Good thing they haven't an ounce of influence on my equipment. The rest I just laugh at. Stupid is as stupid does, right Forest?

      Today I filled up with 4.899 gallons of fuel at a cost of $4.899 a gallon. $24 bucks. 290 miles. 59.2 mpg. After my 4% COSTCO discount just under eight cents a mile.

      14-18 Sierra 1500 Heated Steering Wheel Help

      Howdy folks,   Recently I pulled a heated steering wheel and clock spring out of a 2015 Sierra All Terrain (part numbers coming soon - will have to disassemble), and just installed it on my 2016 Sierra WT (as base model as it gets).   On install, I noticed that I’m missing the connector often tucked behind the dash for the heating element.     No problem… or so I thought.   I used an “Add-A-Fuse” at my heated steering wheel fuse location, which has voltage, but no wires. I ran it to the positive of the heated steering wheel (Violet/White), and took black to ground.   Hooked up the battery, turned the truck on - no heated steering wheel. No button backlights. Was pleased to see that my cruise control was working though.   Read a post suggesting reversing polarity, so I gave it a shot. Violet and White to ground, Black to power.    Aha! Heat! But I seemingly can’t turn it off AND still no backlights on any of the buttons.    Checked all fuses, everything is still in good order. I’m stumped.   Does anyone have any insight? If so, please share!

      I'm about 1800 miles into my last oil change, and yesterday a message appeared saying oil life was at 77%. Not sure why it popped up but I think all of these electronics could be susceptible to solar flares or somesuch. I change my oil right at 3K each time, and that was the first time in 10870 miles that message came up. Strange thing is that it showed on the screen at all since I don't drive with that sort of info displayed on the DIC.
