gbieber05,

Did you ever figure out the seat popping noise when you get on and off of it? It's starting to drive me nuts! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ditto.

Mine has done this a few times. Makes me think it's just a moisture barrier between the foam and top liner kind of like plastic sheets for kids. I'd think aside from fully reupholstering the seats, this krap is going to be stuck in there for good.

Moto Medic,

Did you find a fix for #2 - the drivers seat popping noise? Mine just started doing this last week. Thanks!

I think mine is the same issue. It almost feels like something in the seat clicks or pops when I take turns and my weight shifts slightly. That's the only time I notice it.

Finally figured out why it sounds like someone's tapping morse code on my driver and passenger side doors... Apparently there isn't a very good fit between the door and the little "U" shaped hook that they latch onto. I took some electrical tape and wrapped about 1mm worth around each of the 3 sides and NO MORE MORSE CODE! The door shuts a little tighter now but at least it's finally QUIET!

I'll definitely be taking the vehicle into the dealer for a permanent fix so they can stop "securing the panel clips" and telling me "it's fixed."

Anyone know or how I can fix a squeaking noise coming from headliner close the front windshield. It only does it when it's cold and when I'm slowly going over speed bumps. Sounds like a metal clip squeaking is best I can explain it. Thanks guys

My truck has a rattle noise behind the dash (kind of behind the 2WD/4WD and light switch switches). Usually rattles on rough roads and bumps. I've taken it in twice now, total of two weeks at the dealer and they say it's the clips of the dash that need to be "re-secured". Within the day after picking up truck it does it again. Now it's even more sensitive then before as the rattle happens even when you close the door. Anyone have a work order # to reference that actually fixed the issue? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had the really loud pop (like a rock hitting the windshield). It actually seemed to come from the dash. The noise would happen about every 10-15 minutes. Dealer replaced my windshield. I was skeptical that it would fix it since it sounded more from the dash. It didn't stop instantly; but only happened a few times after installation. Haven't heard it in about 1500 miles now.

Most likely one of more of those metal clips is not fully seated. It will then squeak against its seat whenever you hit a bump. I had a squeak like that in my Impala and it was a poorly seated metal clip on the rear window side trim. And yes, it was terribly irritating. All it took was a gentle smack with my palm in the right place and the clip fully seated and the squeak was gone. But it took me a while to find out where the squeak was coming from.

In my 4 days of owning the truck Ive heard this same noise 3-4 times thinking a rock hit the window but there were no cars in front of me a couple of times.

I also am hearing a very faint but loud enough to notice squeal sound from the lower door panel it sounds like. I hope these things can be fixed easily but after spending 4 hours today at the dealership to just switch out running boards I don't have high hopes

Did you or anyone else fix this leather seat rubbing issue yet? Now that the weather is getting colder, I hear this rubbing sound everytime I get in my truck. Yes it's obvious it's the seat rubbing against the plastic trim on the side of the seat. What can you stick down in there to get rid of the noise, some felt or something?

Put some armorall on that little bit of seat every few months. It's enough to keep it lubed and stop the squeaking.

I also have this and would love a fix.

A more permanent fix is to put some transparent or Teflon/PTFE-impregnated sticky tape on the edge of the plastic trim so the leather rubs on the smooth tape and not the plastic. I had some PTFE sticky tape I got from Amazon leftover from another project, put it on the inside edge of the trim peice, and haven't had any noises from any of the seats since.

My truck is VERY quiet....But I do get two of the very loud pops from behind the center LCD display and at first I too thought it was a rock hitting the windshield. I attribute it to just a nuance of these 100 degree Texas days and as the inside cools down the close tolerance fit of plastic parts do a little shifting.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
