Well I've kept a low profile as I did not want to disturb the negotiations

between Myself and General Motors.

 

We finally came to an agreement and although I was not happy it was my

decision to cut the BS and run especially since I gave General Motors

more then six weeks to find a truck like mine that did not vibrate, I also

gave them the opportunity for a second choice and that they could not even

produce ! It still took the almighty GM an additional five weeks to come up

with a buy back price. I had added a few items that would only fit on a K-1500

short bed and they seemed to have a problem realizing that if they could not

find one the items were useless to me.

 

Some thoughts I'd like to share,

 

ANYONE who visits forums claiming to be Customer Service from GM

are nothing but a waste of your time as are the Customer Service people

from GM's own web site. They tried to get me to commit as long as my

case was active with the BBB. Once GM declared my truck unrepairable

they contacted the BBB and the case was closed and this is where they really

started to insult my intelligence, avoid phone calls and E-mails. I was asked to

send a copy of my DL and both sides of my LIEN FREE Title. They had acknowledged

that they had received it and after the FIVE business day's that was listed I'd

still not heard a peep out of the almighty. After two plus hours of rude people

even though they had my case number they purposely neglected to inform me

that my case worked was no longer employed by GM. I would have given them a pass

however they made a decision to basically blow me off and then sent me a proposal

for some guy in Florida on buying back a Cadillac !

 

So since October 18, 2014 there has been only two positive things that have become

of this, (1) The Service Director at the selling dealership who in my opinion went further

then anyone would even consider. (2) Because of GM's attitude toward it's customers

it allowed my to look at other trucks. I found a NEW Ram 1500 with more equipment for less

then I had paid for the Silverado and it does not vibrate ! The Transmission does not delay

on the up shifts ! and the injectors are quiet !

 

I'll do my best to help anyone out who is going through what I did, All I ask is that

you PM me for specific concerns and or questions to keep the forums clutter free.

 

I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to the forum for making space available

to call out GM who since 2013 has been aware of this issue and for some reason

they get a pass on it.

Since a few posters on here were so quick to tell me that my vibration would be back after a few miles here I am...

 

Driven about 1,000 miles since swapping my tires out from the factory 265/65/18 Goodyear SRA. Truck rides smooth as silk. No more vibrations. Really enjoying this truck.

A lot of people are questioning the Goodyear SR-A tires, and I did too when I was forced to troubleshoot a vibrating 2014 silverado. I dumped that LEMON and now drive a 2014 Ford F150 XLT 5.0....I also have Good year SR-A tires on it and it rides very nice on the highway. They're not great tires for snow, but they do alright. Mine have the red dots on the sidewalls and they'll all in different positions on the rim from the valve stem. I wouldnlt blame the GY tires..they arent the source of your vibration (if they've been rebalanced once). Balancing a tire isn't rocket science..they come balanced from the factory, if you had them rebalanced and still get the vibs the 14 and now 15's are showing, you can eliminate tires completely. My SRA's ride pretty nice. I will swap em, but only after the tread is toast. So far I have over 7000 miles on them, they've been rotated once and still look like new. Those new GM trucks are evil, and I'm glad mine is gone! I actually look forward to taking it out and going for a ride. Do yourselves a favor...life is too short so dont let GM put you through this garbage. Get rid of it and get yourself another brand. I'm not here to push Ford...and never dreamed I'd be driving one, but wow they're really nice trucks. LOVE mine! Trade out and get on with your life. I was there too and am glad I got out. I feel bad for those whi just got into what many of us have already been through (compliments of GM). There are better days ahead! It's just a truck so trade ot when you're able and your life will be improved. Hang in there guys.

I'm going on week 2 and the dealer hung up on me when I politely called and asked for an update! Straight hang up on me! I'm 1500 miles from home or I would have enemy down there already. Very frustrating... I still have no idea what's been looked at.

I had SRAs and a BAD vibration. Swapped my wheels and tires out for 20s with more SRAs. Truck rides fine now. Nice try, but don't spread ignorance for gospel.

I cant tell what you're saying there. I was saying not to blame the SRA tires, and you say you now have 20" SRA tires and your truck rides fine.

Around 55mph, its unbearable, smooths out a bit until you hit 70mph and then I worry its going to come apart.

What do you mean by unbearable? What did it feel like?

The steering wheel and the seats were vibrating a lot. The steering wheel felt like holding the handle on an old mower. You could feel it in your seat bottom and if you looked at the passenger headrest, it was oscillating forward and back. I had a 20 ounce sealed Mt. Dew bottle with me one day in the drink holder, and I had to let it sit for a while, because it wanted to fizz over when I tried to open it from being shaken for 12 miles on the highway.

YEAH! I had a DR. Pepper go off like an IED. Warm DR Pepper+ Vibes = Pissed Off!!! LOL Not to mention it ruined my new I phone and soaked my wallet. :banghead:

13,000 miles on my '14 Silverado still rides great, no vibrations on stock tires. I bought a '15 Sierra yesterday did 80+ MPH most of the 2 hr ride home. Absolutely zero vibrations.

 

I don't think it's the tires, because how do you explain the two I've got? Both ride smooth as glass on the stock Goodyear's.

Easy to explain, they make bad tires and they make good tires and if you have bad ones they will never balance and if you have good ones they will

I was offered a really good deal on a 2014 High Country with the 6.2, but it had the vibration abouve about 67 mph on the Interstate when I test drove it (twice). I turned it down and instead ordered a 2015 LTZ, but I'm nervous about that decision after reading that this problem is STILL happening with 2015's. Damn.

I have had a 2015 4x4 CC, LTZ short box for about 4 weeks now, and it was a very early build, sat at a dealer in MT for a few months. It has NO vibration issue at all. I have driven it quite a few times on the Interstate at mph up to 80 with the cruise on. Only places I have ever noticed vibration was in the right lane near a weigh station and you can see the ripples in the asphalt from the big trucks bouncing their loads.

That is very good to hear! Now, if I could only get the dealer to call me back with my order number. Going into the third week of phone tag/dodging.
