Check to see if this is happening when your AFM switches to V4 mode.... I noticed this too and was told it had to do with the engine running on 4 cylinders.

I think they are full of it. AFM transition is smooth and smooth even in 4 cyl mode and doesn't cause a vibration. My 2013 AFM was smooth as well.

Yes, I understand that there are tolerances, and you could be close to either end of the spectrum therefore feeling something that you may not feel in another truck but GM and the dealerships have taken this normal, operating as designed, operating within the normal characteristics of vehicle design, can not duplicate crap way to far lately. It's turning into a "get out of jail free" card.

It' not the transition that I notice. It's more like the engine is struggling to push the truck down the road in V4 mode when going 50 mph. I notice mine more at 35mph.

Yea that's odd... something's not normal with that.

After taking mine in for its first oil change (8000 kilometers could not let it go any farther in my mind)talked about the vibrations to service writer. They balanced tires found one that needed rebalancing could not duplicate the v4 shake....the owners son volunteered to go for a ride (my complaint is that when the v4 has no load or slight load on the engine it really shakes) so when driving around side streets it's worse than the highway but still noticeable when not excelerating. So while side streeting it went into shake mod around 1100 rpm.he immediately said that's not right.

Bottom line he felt it was something in the exhaust causing this(harmonics my term)said he would send a message to gm but more than likely wait for a recall.

Think I'll send my own as well

Hightong, I am getting the same shake in V4 with my 4.3. Low speed kicks into V4, try light acceleration and bam she vibrates, have to goose gas to get it out of V4. Even get it at highway speeds. Keep us updated.

If you put it in M5 does it still happen? M1 - M5 will keep it out of V4 mode.

15LTZZ71, running in M5 keeps the AFM from engaging? I drive 25 miles one way to work everyday mostly highway. I do not drive highway in M5 so it happens then.

Ok, going into V4 mode and AFM means the same thing. I was asking Jim (Hightong) though.

Edit: he said in his post, when driving around side streets its worse then it is on the highway.

Edit: Just wondering if he drives it in M5 does it still vibrate?

My turn to join this never ending issue. Took my 2014 sierra 1500 cc ltz in for it's 2nd visit today to look at steering wheel vibrations. Problem has been there since new and had rf balancing on tires done at 500 miles, mechanic said it felt fine after. Sorry felt exactly the same, vibration starts at 45 mph and continues to 55mph but only in the steering wheel. Does anyone remember if there was a fix for this type of vibration, sorry not enough time to read through all 212 pages for ideas. Presently at 1900 miles and curious what dealer will try and say this time.

Check my posts re: rear diff. exams and replacement.

Thanks PMurray truck is still in shop and they are looking at this. They said they had 1 like mine and replaced the rear end in it and solved the steering wheel vibration.

Well, tired of my 2014 Chevrolet Viberado LT - went shopping for new trucks just to see how they ride ect ect. Came out of a 2004 Titan SE off-road, and really like the 2014 Titan Pro-4X - took it for a test ride and rides nice - so now the money issue comes up - willing to take a bit of a loss to get out of this over engineered WeebleWobble - but the dealer did something I never experienced before - they asked if I minded that they take MINE for a test ride - 2014 with 2500 miles? why? its new? I just don't like it? Hmmm... now im worried - so they come back - service guys whispers some crap to the dealer - dealer sits down and scribbles some crap - $25,000 trade in - for a 2 month old $46,000 truck. and wont budge, wont argue, wont deal. I understand some loss due to being a one owner vehicle now and all, but damn... Reason? cause " im going to have to resell that" - think the word is out boys.......

Don't be surprised. Dealers often get suspicious when one is trading in a nearly new vehicle. Still at least $ 30k should have been the lowest offer considering the outrageous sticker prices on these trucks. And I suspect too that the word is out - they have probably seen quite a few irate customers who bought these trucks slightly used and now cannot get them fixed even though they are still under GM factory warranty.

GM completely dropped the ball on the quality control on these trucks it seems - now they have badly assembled differentials, transmissions, drive shafts, and poorly assembled trucks in general. Even though I own 3 GM cars and trucks, I will not buy another GM truck at this point until I see a complete turnaround. My 2013 Chevy Sonic turned out to be an excellent little car with absolutely no problems, now at 21k miles. Has never been back to a dealer even for an adjustment. Even the wheel alignment was perfect out off the factory, which is not usual for GM cars and trucks (based on my experience with other two).

    • Breaking News!    I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I told  you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm about to tell you on the other side of the break.  Then we're going to break. Then I'm not going to tell you what I told you I was going to tell you.  But I'll tell you something else that is Breaking News just coming to the desk that everyone reported on yesterday.  Then I'll tease a human interest telling I'll get to on the other side of a larger break. Then I'll tell you one item in 20 seconds and go back to an even longer break. Longest break of the night.  Then I'll tell you a fluff piece that takes 10 seconds and sign off into a three minute break while you wait for the next 30 minutes of rinse and repeat on the local news.    In al you'll get about 12 minutes of something, 5 minutes of which is worth hearing in a 30 minute show and 18 minutes of advertising at a sound level twice as loud as the news.    Of course you can switch to cable news and hear 12 different people tell the same four stories in much the same format as the Network News for 20 hours of which the majority will be advertising.  And four hours of late night Specials about things you wonder why you stayed up to listen to. Half of which will be repeats.....   OR you can go for a drive
    • Did you ever figure this out? My 2022 Trail Boss, and now my 2026 LT did this from time to time.  I believe it was more connected to Android Auto and my phone being the cause. Maybe try going for a drive, sans cell phone.... and see if it happens?
    • I have a 2026 Silverado LT, the non bose as well.  Upgrading the door speakers is pretty straightforward. You could honestly go to walmart, or Auto Zone/ O Reilly and get a set of 6x9s for the front, and 6.5s for the rear. You do also have to get some adapters for each, but they are like $10 a pair on Amazon. Then some plug and play harnesses that are about $10 a pair on Amazon as well.  And I would also suggest a 10 pack of the Amazon Basics sound deadening. Slap that all around the speakers and on the open metal of the inside of the door. And your golden.   I am currently doing this with my Silverado. Although I am having a bit of trouble because I am snooby I guess and bought some Alpine S2 S69c's which are 2 way components and I am having to wire from the door up to the dash....  Having never installed speakers before, its taking me just a bit to get everything correct. But if you dont buy expensive component speakers, and just some $40-$50 door speakers. You will DRASTICALLY improve the sound over these stock paper cone junk speakers. I thought my Silverado had an issue with the radio/ sound for a while.  Come to find out.  The stock speakers are just THAT SH*TTY   I cannot wait to have some decent sound in the truck   What did you end up doing?
    • Its all automatic based on yaw sensor data.  If enough incline is detected, it engages.   My recommendation though would be to disengage it before driving off and not let it auto disengage by touching the gas pedal.  The HD trucks use the same setup as prior years, the drum in hat park brake.  But now with an electric actuator.  If you drive off repeatedly over time, it can torque the park brake shoes and can also prematurely wear them out.           Electric console shift will set the park brake on flat ground too.  Pretty sure they've got it programmed to activate every time.
