I wonder how many people have over inflated tires? Two of my 305's have excessive road force, so I put them on the back and lowered them to 30 psi. I can barely feel them now. For myself it seemed like having higher psi made my road force vibration worse. If you guys have stock tires they should be at 32 psi, if you have them over that it could make your vibration worse.

I've contributed here for over a year now and I like this to stay on topic. I may not be a moderator but I'm trying to help out which is what this site is all about. I had a 14 bought back bc of vibrations and I bought a second one and now have 20k smooth miles on it. So yes, I take it personally and still follow this thread to offer advise to those who need it. I have no interest in RAM, I wouldn't drive one if it was free. But, back on topic, he has as much right to post in this thread as anyone else including you. As a matter of fact he is probably more qualified to speak to this topic than most. But my apologies for the attack, i typically stay away from that type of childish internet behavior. It doesn't help.

 

And just an update on my situation, GM found no issues in the rear dif and recommended a 5th set of tires. Those did not help either. Today or tomorrow we will sit down and start the trade assist process, i'll probably order a 2016. I'm one of the lucky ones, my dealer is great. I've looked at all of the other trucks out there, the only one I would want is the Chevy. I've been driving GM since 1978, first car was a 1969 Nova. I've had many other makes and models since then but I'll always be a GM guy at heart.

Seems to me that The Factor was staying on topic in a way. He fixed his problem by buying a Ram. And in doing so and relaying info on his experience with the Ram and the differences from the Silverado, has contibuted to the forum for those who could use information like that. It was useful to me. That's why I lowered my stress level and now drive a Ram. I still come on the forum here because I am still interested in what's going on and to keep up with current events, new products. I'm not a bot for any particular company so I like to keep abreast industry wide. Why in the world you would take that personally is beyond me.

Hey guys I'm new to the forum but not to the vibration issues. I have read a good bit of the thread but 382+ pages makes it hard to sort through.

 

Has anyone had any luck getting a gm buyback or just getting out of their truck? I have a 2015 Z71 Sierra Texas Edition that is shaking me to pieces. I've had the truck in three times (currently at the shop now for the 9th day in this visit ) for tire replacement, shock replacement and probe testing. The SM seems to be lost as far as a solution goes. Today is my 29th day the truck has been in service. I know lemonade starts at 30 days. Any advice on what and how to approach this? I'm at wits end.

I'm also keeping an eye on this forum, I joined here long before the vibration issue back when

I had my '04 K-2500 that I traded in on the '14.

 

When I traded the '04 on the '14 in Oct 2014 and the first time into the service drive being told

" Don't believe everything you read on the internet " & " Normal opperation " this was the first

place I came to. and just to find out this thread started in August of 2013 !

 

For me being a past employee of GM/Chevrolet, I learned there is no such thing as brand loyalty

in today's world and I won't even go on about how GM/ Chevrolet Motor Division insulted my

intellengence. For four months they had my PAID for Silverado, racked up over a thousand miles

and all I got was Silverado's that vibrate just as bad as mine to drive...What a joke !

 

The ' DEAL ' that GM has made with the government and the unions at the tax payer expense, in my opinion

should be the reason they get no more hand outs...Period ! All three of them have not a clue on how to run

a business or provide any type of customer service ! All of their records clearly state this.

 

I will continue to help as many as I can, and I have enjoyed helping the one's who have PM'd me.

 

The facts are clear unless you care not to acknowledge it, Since 2013 GM has really not

really made any positive ground on this ! And Why ? BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TO ! ! !

 

I took my ' HIT ' like a big boy and like a few have mentioned, I ended up getting More Truck/Equipment

for less money. Not only is my Ram vibration free, the transmission does not increase 300 to 400 RPM's on

a up shifts, the injectors are quiet, no dash rattles, no paint runs.

@abominable Not sure how it is in your state but your sales tax should be on the new truck value minus trade in value, so it shouldn't be too bad.

In NJ it's more involved meaning, You pay Tax on the Truck Price Before Incentives and Rebates minus your trade in... My incentives and rebates were 9K-10K which at 7% is close ~$700 and than I had to pay an additional $400+ for a Luxury Tax... I damn near got locked up at the DMV...

Bragging up another brand of truck while on a different brand of truck's forum I would sort of consider as a lesser type of trolling (direct trolling being hard bashing and calling down other forum members while doing so), you're going to get defensive folks no matter how you spin it and even if you are just trying to "help".

Just got finished putting the order together on a 2016, can't get High Country in Silver so I had to go with the 6.2 LTZ and LTZ Plus package / 6.2 with 8 speed. This should be interesting.

For any Canadians out there with vibrations don't give up just recently had my 2014 GMC Sierra CC Z71 SLE 1500 bought back after one year of vibrations. purchased in August 2014 had the steering wheel vibration between 70 and 90 km an hour. Dealer road force balanced tires just like everybody else no difference then replaced whole rearend brake to brake again no fix. Later replaced steering shaft hoping to mask vibrations. Gm engineer brought in and says operating as designed, says vibrations that It does have are due to the AFM but if you put the truck in manual mode vibrations were still there. All along my dealer was on my side and continued to acknowledge the vibrations (service mgr head mechanic) but after the engineer stated it was normal they were told not to work on the truck anymore. 79 days in the shop the first 4 months and that was enough filed for CAMVAP which is our Canadian lemon law that's free. Be patient as the process takes a while but it works. Keep a log of everything and keep your cool as it goes a long way when calling the dealers staff to be your witness at your arbitration hearing. Results were full buyback with no deductions for mileage 20000 km's.

Finally I did something I swore I would never do and bought a Ram 1500 Laramie for the same price as a Sierra SLE and am loving every bit of it.

Got back. Dident take a xway home so ill report back tomorrow. Puco meter was apparently 80 before now is 6. They rotated the SRAs on the rims and made sure they were perfect. Stated they tested to 88mph. GM cust care is still decideing on the Duller ATs but service said theyd give me a set anyhow off the loaner truck i had both have 2500 miles worst case

I'm getting out of mine using what GM calls their Trade Assist program.

Finally I did something I swore I would never do and bought a Ram 1500 Laramie for the same price as a Sierra SLE and am loving every bit of it.

 

Good advice and glad you got into a vehicle you enjoy, that's the end result everyone here is looking for. Be it a RAM a FORD or GM, everyone is just looking to be happy with their truck.
