There is my mistake...I searched "2 auto" and got nothing. Thanks for the help.

Sometimes you have to search for something using different key words. I know that I have seen topics and had a hellova time finding the thread again. When all else fails, post a new topic...

If you use Firefox I would HIGHLY recommend changing the security settings/configuration in order to better protect yourself. Sorry for going off topic. *Security Profession mindset takes over sometimes.

I have mine set very "tight" on security, but anything can be exploited. Just a question for you, what browser do you recommend?

Sorry to the OP for getting off topic.

Sorry to the OP for getting off topic.

At work I use both IE and Chrome. Home I use Chrome and Safari. I have changed lots of configurations. Lots of "Do Not Track", disabling location, closing all temporary files once browser is closed, etc.

EDIT: Sorry, to answer your question I would suggest Chrome. It regularly ranks high on the Secure spectrum. IE Is middle. Firefox is very low. When it comes to Privacy, reverse all of those. Chrome is low, IE middle, Firefox very high. Chrome tracks everything out of the box. That's why I recommend changing the configurations on all of them.

Never said you wasted my time. WE are here to help you and everyone else, however a search of "4 auto" returns 80 other threads and your question is covered multiple times.

It's also explained right in the Owners Manual but lots of people spend $40-$50K and never open the manual ...

I can't believe no one has gotten made fun of for suggesting to use 4 auto in the rain. There was a couple little jabs but no flat out insults. I use auto4 when the road surface becomes slick. Sometimes that's just rain. Use when you feel like it, it is good to go.

2wd, unless you want it in rain or snow, 4WD-HI after you're stuck... don't use 4WD-HI to get stuck, use it to get UNSTUCK

I thought it was 4-Hi to get stuck and 4-Lo to get unstuck?

I don't know why you'd open the manual when there are perfectly good strangers on the internet to inform you what to do.

I use auto when it is slick (ice/snow) otherwise just 2WD personally.

2wd all the time. even in snow unless i need 4wd. once i get moving in the snow i switch to 2wd. never needed auto in the rain... :freak:

2wd off road until i get cant move. obviously i wont bury my self..

auto is for girls and soccer moms who cant drive. what did you guys all do back in the day of rear wheel drive cars and trucks?

i guess its different when you grow up driving 2wd :driving:

4Lo won't get you out of anything you can't get out of in 4Hi. It's more for pulling torque off road or crawling.

I learn something new every day. Good thing I haven't tested my own advice yet. I thought it just gave you more torque and less throttle curve so you could ease out and keep footing easier. :D

I agree it's not magic and it won't free a truck that's beached, but it will definitely help you in a sticky scenario such as a three point turn on a snowy logging road. The torque multiplication helps you keep the wheels spinning at low speeds.
