Hello,

I bought a 2020 LTZ late last month. I was told that it would arrive on the 19th. On the 19, the dealer called and said that it was at the railhead in Nashville TN, which is where the dealership is. On the 21st he called and said that the truck was in Quality Control and as soon as it was released it would be to the dealer. Now, today he called and said that it is awaiting transport to the dealer. He can't tell me when it will be here, so does anyone have a timeline for something like this? What are the chances I'll get it tomorrow which is a Saturday.

Thanks in advance.

How come they're still shipping a 2020?

Was it a dealer transfer, rather than a new build?

When I bought it, it was supposed to be to the dealer within a week. No, it's coming from the factory. Not sure when it was built though.

That makes sense now.

I was struggling with how you could have ordered a new 2020 in late Sept when the were done taking 2020 orders.

I ordered a 2021 mid Sept.  Got word today that it's built.

When I was told a truck was assigned to deliver my truck it took about a week until my truck got the lot. Then, the dealer does all of its BS, which will add a couple days.

Here is the timeline on our truck:

Built 9/18 (You can gauge when it was built by when it showed up on the dealer website if they didn’t give you a build date)

Arrived at the dealership 10/22

Our dealer was awesome. We ordered up the $1,000 in free accessories a couple weeks ago so they would be ready when the truck was delivered. They installed the step bar, bed cover, black lugs/wheel locks, tailgate lettering, black emblems and detailed it up by today. Brought her home a few hours ago :)

Very nice. I'm sure I'll get it Monday or Tuesday. Dealerships are closed here on Sundays. Glad you got your truck.

It was available for transport and then got held for qc, now its released, so hopefully it will get picked up on Monday. Anyone know what the qc is for? Is that just something where they pick a random vehicle or did they see something that needed to be fixe?

Just ordered a 21' High Country to replace my 19', this is my 1st time ordering a truck so I'm hoping the 22 weeks in the Donlen link isn't correct and closer to the 8-10 weeks the dealer told me. Dealer will enter the order tomorrow so I'll be watching and updating timeline here as well. Crossing my fingers for a 12/31 or earlier delivery but after reading the past few pages here I don't think it will happen.

21' High Country Crew Cab Short bed

- Satin Steel Metalic/Black

- 6.2l/10 spd

- Tech Package

- Max Tow Package

- Safety Package II

- Power Assist steps

- Sunroof

- Aux Trailer Camera

- Rear underseat storage

MSRP: 67,740

So the dealer sent paperwork to have it released on Monday the 26th. As of today 10/30 there has been no response.

Having no idea when its coming OR why its taking so long is driving me crazy! :)

I think that might be 'code' for 'the truck is out getting the spray-in liner added'.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
