I got my $25 switch in, and went ahead and installed it.  Now I just need to get my harness from Phil, and windshield bracket from SDHQ

I also got my switch, going to put it in the same time I get the wiring from Phil...

Lights came today, I like them but not sure it's exactly what I'm looking for. The mounting plate bends a little on the sport bar, so the lights sit at a bit of an angle. Might be able to shim them straight, or move them more towards the center. Or I might use these as cargo/reverse lights and hang them under the bar.

Ok folks, for anyone wanting this headlight switch harness, I have them ready made, and ready to ship.

$35 shipped anywhere in the US.

They are built with the same specs as shown in the video by Tinkering Fox.

Harness is labeled for easy installation!

Thanks to @Tinkering Fox for collaborating with me on this project!

PM me to order.

Got mine too from Phil.  Trying to find a decent quality bar for behind my 2500 grill.

Okay well it appears as though this switch won’t work in the 2014s. I just made my harness following TinkeringFox’s video and my switch doesn’t do anything. No light on the instrument cluster and the switch doesn’t change to amber. Can anyone confirm this? I’m assuming the BCM isn’t configured for it.

Uh oh!!! I got my switch and installed it. It works perfectly. Lights and backlighting all work like factory.  I ordered the harness from Phil. I hope it works!!! Im not concerned if the switch lights up a different color or if the light on the dash comes on, if it even has it. All i want is for my light bar actually come on at least with the long press. It would be nice if i could just tap the button though.. maybe someone else could confirm if the 2014 LTZ Z71 even has that ORL icon on the dash.

Installed my switch and harness this evening and noticed two things:

1.) Switch doesn't activate when in Park. Truck has to be out of Park in order for the switch to work.

2.) Switch will also turn the headlights and parking lights on too, just like if you press the fog light button.

Overall, I'm happy with it. The instructions were perfect and it was great having the pre-made harness.

On a side note, I do have an extra switch (blue color) because I accidentally ordered two. I did plug it in and test it and it does work. If anyone is looking for one, send me a PM.

Damn that’s some crap about not working in park.  I can understand the other lights coming on but why not allow it to come on in park? Wonder if you can set the parking brake and trick it?

Set the parking brake and put the truck in Neutral.

Is there anyone else on here with a 2014 that has done this?

Cburge95, do you have the lights using a relay or are you just trying to run it directly off of the switch?

I haven’t tried it with anything hooked up to it yet. I wanted to test to see if it’d even work before running all the wires out underneath the hood to my light bar. Because theoretically it should supply 12v to the yellow wire when the switch is depressed right? Even without anything hooked up to it?

For you guys with 2014/2015 or anyone else that this doesn’t work for (due to BCMs not being programmed to output these triggers), please be patient with us.

We have an alternate method that allows you to use the OEM headlight switch to still drive whatever lights you want, but uses a different method.

We are working very hard between our day jobs, family, etc...to bring you these amazing mods :)

So please be patient with us.

    • There was talk over the last couple of years that the contract to build these trucks between GM and International would not be renewed.  International moved production of all their other trucks besides the companion CV model out of the Springfield plant some time ago when they opened their San Antonio plant.  That left Springfield only building the Silverado Medium Duty, International CV Series, and some Express/Savanna long wheelbase cutaways.  International also put the plant up for sale some time ago.  This all answered my earlier question as to why GM and International did nothing with these trucks since they were introduced, as they had basically become a market 'placeholder' with a finite life.    The Silverado Medium Duty/International CV trucks were interesting combination of a GM powertrain, electrical system, and K2XX Silverado cab with an International chassis that was supposedly designed for a step-van type vehicle they never produced.  They were manufactured in International's Springfield plant along with the IH MV series initially.  When first introduced, there was much talk that the Silverado Medium Duty/CV would eventually get a gasoline engine option along with other upgrades and GM and IH would work on a class 6/7 joint venture truck.  This was before VW bought Navistar out, after that happened no more was said.  Draw your own conclusions...   About the time talk started that the GM/IH joint venture was not going to be renewed, rumors started that GM would develop a new line of medium duty trucks themselves.  The story is the new trucks will be part of the next generation HD's due in 2028, and will still feature a 'straight rail' chassis design that the current medium duty has.  GM views this as a desirable feature that differentiates their truck from the competition.  A gasoline engine option is also expected.  As the current Silverado Medium Duty remains in production until September 2026 and there is still a lot of inventory available do not expect any official word for some time.   I believe GM remains committed to their successful partnership with Isuzu, and all the LCF models will still be available from Chevy Commercial dealers.  Isuzu is on the cusp of opening a new large plant in South Carolina and there is also speculation that this may result in new product for both Isuzu and Chevy Commercial dealers.
    • drive the truck back to the dealer and complain that the button works.

    • I have a 2026 2500 HD Ultimate. My phone app says there’s a software update available. It’s something about improved battery management and something to do with the running boards. I follow the instructions for the update but the “Check for Updates” option is greyed out in my settings menu. Has anyone else seen this? How did you resolve it? The help message just says “see your dealer” if the download doesn’t work. I’m just trying to save a trip.
    • Fuel mileage?  That's all how you use your right foot.  Exhaust will give you sound.   Stock exhaust 5.3 is 2.75" diameter piping.     If the truck is nice and worth putting some $$ into it, I'd go for a Corsa catback.  I had one on my 2019 old body 5.3 and it was just perfect.  Zero drone, just driving around and cruising on the highway you'd think it was stock, but when you opened it up it was like a Camaro with the factory dual mode.  Corsa bumps their catback to 3in diameter.
