Other than the "shake" I really like it. It did have a rough idle but a can of Sea Foam and a tank of gas took care of that.  

 

My Dealer called me back and said they needed to order 2 more tires. I asked if the new tires they sent were bad? The Service Manager said they could not get 2 of them road forced to 10 LBS and he's not putting any tires on it that wont. I told him I liked his style. To be continued tomorrow:

Just started reading these posts and realized i can relate.  My truck has been experiencing shake and rattle.  I had the wheels balanced and aligned and it lasted for a week before the same rattle came back.  Took to dealership and it was found that 3 out 4 tires were suddenly out of spec.  For 3 days my truck has been in the shop while the ordered tires again failed spec during a road force balance.  Someone please explain why GM is sending to the dealers tires out of spec and that the suppliers where they are receiving the new tires are continually out of spec?  Wouldn't it be simpler to use a different brand other than Goodyear that continues to have the same issue time and time again?

How many built vs. how many shakers? My 14 at 50k miles is a total success. Shook, fixed, end of story. I've talked to many owners (mostly at gas pumps) and NEVER FOUND ONE WHO HAD A SHAKER.

I’ve driven about 10, and 2 were shakers. All pretty much brand new from dealer.

 

Even if its only 5-10%, thats over 100k trucks and more than justifies taking any truck you purchase up to highway speed.

Hi everyone. I feel like my issue is similar to K. Baker's. Once I am at 73-75mph, I tend to feel it little shake/vibration especially in rear seats and passenger seat. Just picked up the truck over 2 weeks ago, now with 650 miles on engine. Wasn’t being sure of tires and balancing. Took it back to dealership, had them road force them (stock tires/rims), kind of saw a little improvement on rear seat vibration, but still passenger seat tends to have it and now front end seems to be picking up too. I hope it’s the tires and balancing as I am not a fan of dealership’s technicians doing it. But based on what I am reading here, it could be related to trany and other things. Almost feel like I should take it to a place that specializes in tire installs, places with 30+ years of experience and seasoned technicians. I do get that it’s a machine thing, but I also feel like there is some technician experience thing to it too. And not sure if I continue sticking with the dealership or try other specialists due to warranty thing. So, any feedback/direction is much appreciated.  Thanks!

My Continentals are being replaced with Bridgestones. 2 of the NEW Bridgestones were bad (or when I say bad - not able to road force to GM spec) Hope you can get it resolved HighCO06!

Barak, Ive learned that the specs are SO tight for the RFV, it takes a seasoned tech to get it right.

See that’s my feeling too. I hesitate to go back to dealership as I have learned that techs are mostly general and not much experienced mechanics. This is especially true with my GMC dealership as they recently just opened a new store and I see how everything is from scratch. So would you recommend going to more seasoned place, I would just have road force balancing done nothing else so from a warranty perspective it shouldn’t hurt right? Thanks!

Got a call back from the Service Manager today and he said they now have 4 good balanced Bridgestone Dueler tires but he had to leave early today and wanted to drive it before he gave it back to me. I told him that I have a loaner and to keep it and drive it tomorrow. If that didn't correct the vibration, you WILL feel it at 70 mph with in 5 - 10 miles for sure.

 

I told him I have read posts about people placing clamps on leaf springs, having torque converters replaced, drive shafts balanced, dealer performed transfer case update, replaced ring/pinion and bearings, replace rear shocks, over tightening U bolts, replace axle flange, shimmed rear end, alignments, and more. 

 

To me it seems like I notice it more when the truck has forward motion and it can be very limited at that and still cause the vibration. This makes me believe that its a transmission issue - torque converter or something of the sort.

Knowledge is power Barak, dealing with the service manager and holding them accountable is what I have been doing. Of course my truck is not repaired yet either, I am still on the "road force" phase myself. I do wonder when my service manager drives it tomorrow and still feels a vibration what his next course of action will be. They also know I have a pending BBB case in the works along with GM's involvement so it may not hurt to get some big guns on your side.

I hear you. My truck is brand new so I am little disappointed that I am experiencing this. It could very well be tires out of specs for GM road force requirement. What is meant by tires out of specs? The tires I got are goodyear wrangler SR-A highway all season. Thanks!

See my post on page 806 Barak, that explains pretty much what I know about the tire specs. 

 

You have every right to be disappointed with a brand new truck! I am and mine has 17K on it which I still consider new(er).

Ok just did. I do feel for me it’s most likely tires. Could something happen to tires from sitting on a lot for longer period of time? My truck is 2018 and I just picked it up so it was on dealer lot probably since October 2017 not to mention it got dealer teaded to a place 2 hours away than brought back when I committed to purchase. Also, I onced owned a Toyota Tundra and had similar experience, come to find out tires were an issue. After they upgraded tires to Michelins, my shakin/vibration was gone. So I feel similar issue may be with GMC.

Tires do get flat spots that usually round out after they are driven on and heat up. I have had an issue like this on a Lexus SUV and the cause was the chrome rims were out of balance, I finally told them to put regular rims on it after 3 trips and hours of BS. I'm not saying that it does not happen but what makes the GM trucks so overly sensitive to ALL of the tires? With hundreds of complaints and more popping up each day its not a surprise that GM ran this version for only 4 years before the change in 2019. Anyone know if the 2019's are shakers? I haven't heard any yet myself.
