I usually run a more aggressive tuning profile for the fans and add a 160° stat to help with the cooling issues. What kind of transmission changes did you make? I have HPT as well and a 6.2, just haven't made the jump to tune it yet. Need to check with my dealer contact that is going to do my service work and see if they are still a mod friendly dealer.

I spoke with Alvin about tuning, he can email you a tune as well if you have HPT. He said they don't dyno tune the trucks due to the drive shafts can come apart while on the dyno and cause a lot of damage.

Ok... if you tuned with wide band then Lean creep shouldn't be an issue. My MAF started creeping above 7000 hz to the lean side almost 10% in the stock tune, which would cause a very lean condition in PE if you started scaling it to 1.13 in order to meet the ideal 13.0 AFR from the factory 12.0 or whatever it is, so I just wanted to rule that out. I think GM fattens up their PE tables just to compensate for a possible lean condition in their generic MAF calibrations. I always have to ask because most tuners don't use a Wideband and it ends up biting them in the but.

Truck looks like it runs hard, I know it woke my 5.3 up, I can only imagine what these 6.2's are like. Did you start tripping switches on the Transmission Torque Management or are you fine tuning it.

If you find that dealer, let me know. I will drive to OKC for a real good mod friendly dealer.

I can't believe how many people are still tuning with the threat of warranty issues but its good to see it. Nothing like driving a well tune vehicle, especially when they feel so sluggish starting out.

That's why I have my own copy of HP Tuners. Copy stock tune, then tune it......throw the stock tune whenever you goto the dealer.

As long as they don't check the history and see you have changed it before.. but I would think it wouldn't be a big deal unless something serious.

That doesn't work any more on the '14 Silverado. cmpcpro is correct though, as long as GM service techs/engineers don't dig for a tune then we will be fine.

Spent over 4hrs tuning truck tonight!!! Wow I love my truck!! Pulls to 6400rpms now. I fig it would quit pulln around 6 but its still pulln strong. Ill post a 0-100 video in a bit if mods will allow it!

How many miles do you have on your truck? I'm getting mine tuned as soon I get some miles on it. Right now I have 823 miles on mine.

Are you really asking if we fine tuned it? We spent over 4 hours on this thing and 15 gallons of gas driving and flashing! When we tune for customers the trucks have to act stock to please them then if they wanna go its gotta go so everything we do is fine tuned and with wideband!!! We treat a stock vehicle like it has 1000 HP so while doing a 1000 hp car we wont be slacking!! Not bn a smartass just sying. The most power felt in the butt meter for the night was when going from 12.4 to 13.0 in AFR. This really woke the truck up!! S far as timing we shot for 22 as a happy number and a couple adders got it up to 23-24 with no KR!! Put some time into your trans tunes!!! Esp if this is voiding your warranty!! The 6.2 trans files are nothing like the 5.3s. The convertor files are alot different too. My truck has nearly 10,000 miles I think.

Why are some of you disabling AFM? This doesnt make any sense to me.

I disable AFM on all my GM trucks and SUVs because its not as seamless as GM claims it is, it annoys me to no end, it has been known to cause excessive oil consumption in past years models, the truck runs better and smoother without it and I have seen a slight increase in fuel economy after disabling it on every vehicle so it obviously is not doing a good job at what GM originally designed it for. I really don't care so much about the fuel economy but its a nice side effect. I didn't buy a 5600 lb 4x4 V8 for fuel economy anyway.

The question was strictly towards torque management fine tuning vs turning it off. Most people don't believe in torque management. Wasn't questioning your ability... And definitely had no intentions of getting anybody's panties in a wad.

You use Lots of exclamation points when responding to me, lol. My questions about wideband were because you mentioned having heating issues, I was simply asking them to rule out possible scenarios. For me to assume you used a wideband would be asinine. I do not know your tuning capabilities or means for that matter, so I ask basic questions first, it's 101 for technical support. I assure you that my intentions were only geared towards help and simple child like curiosity with no intentions of passing judgement. I do apologize if those somehow came across as offensive in some manner and I also apologize in advance if this comes across as condescending.... which itself can sound condescending, so.... Oh, forget it! Lol!

That last part was an attempt at humor^^

I wonder if the ecm and tcm could be swapped out from wrecked trucks as they become available to be swapped back in when warranty work is required? I know how many of the modules in newer vehicles are vin assigned and cant be swapped out the only option is to buy it new plug it in and it marries to the bcm vin. The problem isn't so much issues that arise from the tune as much as problems that may come into play on the new gen motor. direct injected motors do seem too pollute oil quickly and we may end up having problems that are completely unrelated but the flashed ecm gives the dealer the opportunity to flag your vehicle as modified and refuse repair. I want to be sure that if my motor eats the cam its going to get fixed.

The info that the OP is providing is consistent with all that I've read re: the new GM Global A platform, which the new trucks use. GM probably won't request a CVN for non-hard-part failures, but a failed transmission or motor will certainly go that way.

I'm curious as to how these new trucks are driving on the stock tuning. I tuned mine myself (EFI), and can't imagine going back to OEM. The 6-spd being tuned for mileage seems to be frustrating for some, and I'm guessing that I'd probably be one of them.
