Thanks i already did this mornin. However i know people get busy and i thougjt i could get an answer faster on here. He sent me the e92 file i jus dont know how to put it on the autocal

You do it in the scan and tune software under the BBX tab if I remember correctly. Open the file there then write it to the autocal.

I just finished reading all 21 pages...very informative. I see that most tunes are to the 5.3, a few to 6.2's. I have the 6.2 & drive at 3000-8000 ft.

Questions:

1. I assume a tune for higher altitude will differ slightly from a sea level tune-because you have less HP.

2. I'm the guy TDT describes as "not wanting to get involved" maybe because I've never done it before. So Diablo tuner and Lou or BlackBear? Or buy the tuner and see how the stock tune works? Or do Lou and BlackBear use the HP or EFI?

3. Anyone out West tune a 6.2 and who did you use?

4. Do you plug in to the OBD port and flash the ECU, then remove or does the tuner stay connected?

I want to tune both engine and transmission, just don't want to get on the wrong track.

I sent an email to Diablo asking about how they claim to not void the warranty and got a very short answer back..

Our tunes do not change any of the CVN's and there is no trace of the tune, whether installed or set back to factory.

Anyone have anything more on this since everything I've been reading in this thread and others seem to indicate otherwise...

I don't claim otherwise, I just haven't heard anything that confirms this. My tunes do change the CVN's and probably anybody else will say the same thing. That is a HUGE selling point if their claims are true though... HUGE!

Do Not Get A Canned Tune! Justin and Lew can fix you up with minimal involvement from you, what little there is will be worth it. Or find a good local tuner and support them... I do stress GOOD though. Too many "tuners" around here that will not give you satisfactory results.

I got basically the same response back from Lew also, saying it's because they have a GM Programming Engineer on their staff... It's got me leaning more towards that way, just wish we had a way to confirm that.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this but I am looking for a tuner for my 2014 Silverado z71, which seems to not only get crappy mileage, but is quite slow in doing so. Can anyone suggest a good tuner? Also, i have not yet done an air filter, nor exhaust so suggestions are really welcome. Thanks for the help

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but east coast supercharging ( eastcoastsupercharging.com ) does a lot of bad ass cars along with race proven motorsport which I believe have their own website as well. If you are mostly stock you may be just as happy with Black Bear who is a sponser on this forum.

Anyone with 6.2L sharing files for their tunes? I really don't want to do anything to crazy but I do have HP Tuners with the latest software. I remember with my Trailblazer SS I uploaded my tune on HP Tuners site to share.

Have you done anything to it yet?

Cold air kit is on it now and I'm changing the muffler. Just want better driveability, throttle response and maybe some better upshifts.

PM me your email, I'll send you a little write up on trans tuning that will get you headed in the right direction. Jon A. Has been playing with his as well and may have some more 6.2 pointers. Jon seems pretty sharp.

Having less power than it could, stupid. Lazy throttle is annoying. Bad shifts are driving me nuts. Getting large clunks at times. Ironic how the setup for smooth shifts make it rough when taking off slow and it shifts to second.

My plan has been from the beginning to leave it alone as long as I can stand. Being this is a new motor it could have something pop up. On the other hand this is my first chance to learn this system and I'd love to expand my experience.

I need to get my 418 built an into my Camaro fast. This thread is making me want to tune, so maybe tuning on it instead will stop the twitching.

I would also think the factory would be able and ready to fix the speedometer readings from different tires sizes these days. What happens if someone with 18's goes and orders factory 22's, are they on their own?
