2015 Colorado and Canyon pricing announced

We're talking extended and crew cab midsize pickup trucks here (Colorado won't have a regular cab option)

 

Starting price on a REGULAR CAB Tacoma is $18, 125. Starting price on EXTENDED CAB Tacoma is $22,505.

 

Starting on the EXTENDED CAB Tacoma is $21,500 after delivery fee vs $20,995 for the Colorado after delivery is hardly competitive.

 

The reason why these trucks failed before was because you could by a comparatively trimmed full size for the same price or below, and the quality of the last gen colorado and canyons was a joke. They barely make good fleet vehicles.

 

I want these trucks to succeed just like everyone else, but why buy $30,000 top of the line colorado, when you can get a $30,000 mid to high level trimmed silverado for the same. Its the same crap that ran GM into the ground before.

LOL almost $38,000 for a Z71 crew cab canyon. What a joke, hate to see what the price on the mini duramax engine is going to be.   Not anywhere even close to nissan and toyota.

Don't forget this is MSRP, which is higher than what you can actually buy one for.   Still, me thinks I will hold on to by '06 2500HD Duramax purchased new for $32.5K.

Actually Colorado Extended Cab starting price ($20,995) is LESS than Toyota Access Cab starting price ($22,505).

Exactly. GM never gets it. It's like they live under a pile of rocks or something.

Toyota should use your starting prices. I'm looking at thier web page right now, and it still says $22,505 including delivery charge on a base stripped Access cab.

Its dependent on the region you select, the farther west you go the more expensive it gets. Try an east coast state, i used PA because that's where i live.

Considering the new GM full-size trucks (with options) will probably be in the high $40k to $50k+ range, this sounds like a bargain.

 

the Escalade is approaching $80K in the Platnium trim!

Wow I guess you get raped all the way around it doesn't matter if you go big or small, I'm leaning toward Ram for my next one.

Looks like the days of a reasonably priced vehicle from GM are long gone. :(

The days of a reliable one are too, so I'm not too broken up about the price. I WON'T be buying one. EVER.

As stated, the MSRP isn't the deciding factor. Incentives will make all the difference. I really like the looks of the new Colorado, but a Silverado for the same money (or just a couple grand more) is a no-brainer. The MSRP is inflated on all GM trucks (in my opinion) so a good incentive/rebate program might make these trucks worth looking at. Otherwise, I'll buy a HD gasser and have a whole lot more truck for the money.

Starting price on the Tacoma is $18,125.

 

Starting on the Tundra is $26,200.

FIND those trucks... they barely exist..... When I sold we couldn't get the basic ones.... in 2006 for example only 2.5% of Tacoma was RC 4x2 stick roll windows, etc.....

Here's what gets me.... people whine for small trucks... gm gives a small truck yet wants to be paid for it (and with inflation is in line with S10 pricing, and these trucks are way bigger and nicer with more safety ) and people say "I can buy a fullsize for that" Uh, yeah that's probably why they all quit selling small trucks...........

I see way too many rams with rusted out fender wells here in MI, no thank you!

      The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.

      Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.

      I can't believe that could possibly be the case. It should be 36mo/100k miles from installation. Then again, it also seems like since a dealership installed it, it'd all be in the system and you wouldn't need to worry about registering, either. Shows you what I know. 😄 Hope this one outlives the warranty!

      I haven't seen inventory recovery from COVID.    In the few random times I 'build my own' truck or SUV, no one has the exact one I want.   GM has been working to lower incentives too for a long time.    A $500 incentive isn't getting me off the couch to go truck shopping.
