Looking at it. It will either be super tight or youll have to trim the side of the covers to clear the packs. Which isnt to bad

GM has a carbon fiber accessory kit for a shit ton of money. almost $2500 if you want the coil covers too.  Crazy.  Looks like they are made by Borla.

Came across this thread in search of replacing my Katec Covers. 

 

My overall impression of them is Meh.

 

Finish. Terribly rough and sand blasting/filing is a must.

Coil relocation kit is extremely overpriced for what it is back coils are damn near impossible to tighten down properly due to firewall. 

Fit on an L83 truck is hard but not impossible. 

Can't use the Elite Engineering Clean Side Oil Separator without some heavy modifying.

 

Really eyeing the Holley low rise valve covers and using the ls adapters by ICT Billet.

Elite Engineering does sell an adapter to use the Oil Separator on for the holley.

Really just holding out that Holley duplicates the LS for the LT engines. I'm leery of using the ls adapters in fear of possible leaks due to added seals.

 I just saw this thread and really dig that you guys are interested in this as well! Because when I was building my truck most of my friends were like it’s a truck why the hell are you touching the engine bay nobody cares unless it’s a turbo or supercharger. Haha I know this is not as cool as the the aftermarket covers but I also wanted to add a little something under the hood so that I had just done a little something custom to every part of the truck.  So a little sanding to remove the texture and then just painted to color match and powder coated a couple pieces when I did everything else for the truck. I think it gives the engine bay a little pop (If you’re tall enough to see it lol)  The only change since this picture is I rerouted the overflow hoses underneath the intake instead of on top .

How do you get the intake manifold cover off? I’ve got the coil covers off so I can repaint and decal. Trying to get the manifold cover off now and am having no luck. Removed the bolts, wire harness, three zip ties from the back (firewall area), and still can’t get it out. Any words of advice?

Just finished my coil covers. Applied promoter adhesion since they are plastic, then painted them with VHT matte black. Used my wife’s vinyl cutter and made the decals. Design is from the 454 SS decal.

It is definitely not an easy task to remove. I’ll  answer more in depth in your message you sent me but it takes patience and being able to work well backwards looking at a mirror.
