Looks like there are sensors in the front bumper now as well as the rear, I guess for park assist? Hopefully bugs at seventy five won't set off the beeper...that's also the photo that I thought I saw a speaker cover on the dashboard in.

Have they mentioned the purpose of the flaps in front of the rear wheels? Am assuming they are going to claim aero improvement vs just a splash guard.

 

Overall cannot wait to see them in person in all trims levels with all the details. Thinking these are going to sell extremely well with the down side being the actual purchase price of a 14 is going to be dramatically higher than a 13.

More evolutionary than wholesale changes. My paid-for '08 is safe in the garage until the next cycle in 5-7 years. Thank you GM!

Seat shapes look more bolstered

Extended cab gets a proper door and look

Dislikes:

"Pod Dash" looks like something out of a Impala rental fleet car. Too many disjointed surfaces, shapes and edges that do not line up. Wood applique looks like someone stopped off at Pepboys and slapped it on with 3M tape.

This major change appears more like a mid-cycle refresh. (fine with me and my current truck)

The styling pays homage to the '80's and '90's. Is that really a good thing? Are those models "homage" worthy?

Loss of the Vortec name. Will the EcoBoost shoppers buy into the sales pitch against it?

Thanks for posting all of the information and pictures. Maybe I'll change my mind once I see one in person.....but right now, I'm really glad I bought my 2012...

I really like the exterior on both trucks but I'm not certain I like or dislike the interior, I guess I'll just have to sit in one. It really doesn't matter what I think because all these updated options I see on the LTZ and All Terrain will probably push the price tag up to 60+ grand. I could never afford one of these...

REALLY glad I have 2 GMT-900 trucks.

That way I will not wear one out and have to buy one of these things.

 

Not impressed with this 2014 at all. I already hate the interior, doesn't look very good IMO. The body style has not realy changed much. Looks like they just took the RAM doors and the Ford tailgate and slapped them on the truck and gave the front end a little change indesign.

 

The GMC looks better than the Silverado IMO.....Hopefully the next time around GM will fix the interior they just destroyed with the release of this model. Really looks bad. If something goes terribly wrong with one of my trucks and I have to get a new model, it will be a GMC.

really like the exterior design of both trucks; looks like a refinement of the GMT900's which are already gorgeous trucks. the interior looks god awful from the pictures. it looks like the dash is giving birth to the center stack. anxious to see specs on the new engines.

I was really worried that the reveal of the new models would make me regret switching to Dodge this past month when my GMT900 Sierra was written off. Well, I don't regret it.

 

I much prefer the GMT900 design (specifically the SLT/LTZ interior) over these new ones. I absolutely hands-down would have loved a 2011/12 HD LTZ model, but with the technological features that these 2014's have. While its nice to see the new technology and optional features, it should be noted that many/most of them have been present in Fords and Dodges since 2010 or '11.

 

My 2011 Ram was far more advanced in that field than the comparable '11 HD Silvy's. Its unfortunate, you cant have it all. Granted, I haven't seen the design of the '14 HDs, but I cant see them being THAT much different that the 1500's.

I think its all good with the exception of where the brake controller is, I would say thats the only negative I see in the interior. If I hit the lotto i will get the Sierra.

First off, thanks for the posts and pics to keep up updated. I think the thing I dislike about the exterior most is the fender flares and how they recess in before bulging out. If I'm not mistaken the Colorado looked like that too. I think it's a terrible look. And the headlights on the Sierra are a step down in looks compared to the current ones.

 

I don't like the interior either but maybe it will grow on me or seem better in person.
