Shake or Vibration Issues

It's hard to tell if the studs are running true, we are going to put an axle in one of them and see if that does it.

Any update on the axle flange runout issue? A good machine shop can cut and true the flange up!

I am having similar issues with my 2016 Platinum. However, they are much worse in sport and towing modes. Ford has stated that these are normal operating characteristics and that it is my driving style that is causing the issues. A co-worker of mine blew his rear differential at 800 miles. He and I also have vibrating in the drive shaft and steering wheel with humming coming from the transmissions. We bought our transmissions in different states and nearly six months apart. There is a much larger issue here and Ford is obviously trying to cover it up.

Quick update on mine; service advisor called to tell me they are replacing the remaining 3 tires due to being out of tolerance. Road force measured more than 30lbs each. Other than the fact I'm a little miffed they apparently didn't bother to check them last time I had it in(where they replaced one tire) they tell me there is a national back order on these tires out 30-45 days. I'm not at all convinced more of the same is going to make a difference, but I guess I gotta play the game. "Take it home and deal with it until we can try this thing that likely won't fix it" makes for a pretty poor customer experience.

Serious buyers remorse going on here.

I guess I haven't looked very close yet. I'll see it again Monday. They're some form of Goodyear all-season, 20" wheel.

Make sure they check the shaft runout front, middle, rear.

Ok so update time.

 

Took my truck to a driveline shop here in Vegas. Very professional guys. They came and test drove the truck with me and confirmed my vibrations. I left it there for a few hours and I was told that the driveshaft definitely was out of balance. They balanced it and checked for run-out.

 

The tech said it had slight run-out but was within spec. He said it wasn't enough to where he thinks it would cause an issue. The truck does feel smoother now for sure. I only had a small amount of time to test the truck on the highway, which is where I have 90% of my problems. It felt smoother but still had a slight vibration. Next week i will have a lot more time to drive it and see how she does. Don't think my short road test was long enough to confirm anything yet.

I'd be tempted to have that minor run-out corrected if you still have any vibes. These trucks seem to be super-sensitive to anything that causes vibration.

Yes that will work check at the trans, the center, the rear, 5 thousandth's or less is what you wanna shoot for.
