where do i go to order a wire harness?

Matt

If you haven't yet, HarnessDR.com - There are two versions, 16-pin and 23-pin.  23-pin is a SEND IN service and is likely needed for most all 2014 trucks and some 2015 trucks.  Some time in 2015, GM changed to the 16-pin version.

There are a number of things that will cause the inside compartment USB hub to not work.

1.  Does the SUB Hub have an SD Card slot?

2.  What year truck?

3.  What USB Cable combination are you using?

4.  What happens when you plug a phone in using the USB cable?

4.  Are both USB Ports and the 3.5mm aux jack not working?

1. No the SUB Hub does not have an SD Card slot.

2.the truck is a 2017.

3.im using the same set up that you used in your video the green to grey I believe from hmi to input on the hub then black to brown the output from the hub to the connector

4.all that happens is that it charges it that’s about it

5. only the USB ports work as a charging plug that’s it and the aux is not work

What about the front port? Does it work the way you want it?

Have a pic of your radio?

Yes the front ports work well connects to my radio and all it’s just the inside compartment one. I thought I had a pic of it but I can always take one

Double check your USB connections. The front usb hub should have the grey end of the usb cable plugged in with the green going into the HMI.

The compartment usb hub should be the brown feed at the front with Black going into the HMI. Make sure those are fully seated. If the front is working, this mean the green port is outputting. So double check that.

Wish they made this for the 19's on up.

"They " don't make the harnesses. GM corporate and dealerships will tell you it can't be done.

The guy that started this post 67 pages ago makes them. One guy, his sideline. He has been generous enough to share his knowledge time after making modifications using his own truck as a test mule.

Your only hope is that Phil (HarnessDr.com) and/or Tinkeringfox will get crazy and trade their trucks for a new model and start the experimentation again.

Thanks again Phil, all 3 of the harnesses I purchased from you are still going strong !!

Seriously thinking about number 4, the dimming mirror upgrade !

Okay I have just switched the wiring I had the black going to the front hub so I rerouted it to the hmi and I will see if that works after work. But to clarify things the green and grey ties in to the input side or output side of the front hub

Anybody having a issue with having the service airbag light come on after installing new Denali seats. I purchased the seat position sensor harness from Phil but as looking into the seats I am not finding it on either seat

Did the seats come from a wrecked truck? I’ve had to swap the seat belt tensioners before.

A development of an airbag light requires some troubleshooting. For example... installing both factory seats and seeing if the airbag light goes away. If it does, then install the driver side seat first (leave factory passenger in). See if the lights comes on or not. If not, then add the passenger seat. If the light comes on then, then the issue is tied to the passenger seat. Usually the seat position sensor. If your factory seat didn’t come with one, then try swapping the seat belt tensioner. This is the part that the seat belt attaches to on the seat.

You can to tackle this strategically and see which seat is causing the trigger.

Still sell the Jump Seat to Full Center Console Retrofit
Plug and Play Harness?

Yes -

HarnessDR.com is my site. There are 2 versions of the harness and depends on what year you’ve got.

Yes I have the factory seat belts I never changed them but I did notice the plug on the Denali seat seemed it didn’t snap in on the passenger seat ima look at the stock one and see if it’s doable to take off that one to swap out
