Putting the oil filter up that high, will take awhile before that oil pump pumps it up there and eventually to running engine.

 

I foresee your vacuum pump dying from starvation and your long block needing replaced when it grenades (shares oil with block). Freezing temp starts must seem like the battery is near dead as excessive amps are sucked thru the battery cables. Stock, GM has been replacing the battery cables via a TSB for excessive resistance due to no lubricant on the motor spinning parts in freezing weather during cranking. You have Zero weight oil.

Very true, I had same setup and my oil pump gone bad spent 3000.
