Taking the kit to an exhaust shop can easily weld up some cats in line. Hell, if you wanted to reuse your OEM cats, you could probably do that for cheap.

You can find 3” high flow cats for $85/ea. Get the speed engineering headers and y-pipe and then have the cats put in.

There's not much room to install them on the SE Y pipe though

There is NOT a catted option for those headers. Of course none of the other manufactures want you to run their cat pipe with someone else’s headers, so custom built is the only option. I’m looking that way now. The extremely cheap pricing of the headers may make this a viable option. I have not found anyone that is “against” these headers. The threads I have seen are all “okayto good” with a few “great” thrown in.

I wish Stainless Works were more affordable. They certainly seem to be top shelf.

I’ve been reading about headers for the last couple months and everything you said mirrors what I’ve found. $400 for the SE LT headers and OFY, $200 on cats and whatever it costs for fabrication. That’s one option. The only other option in this price range is Texas Speed and Performance’s Long Tube Headers with Catted Y. $802 plus shipping.

I would get the Texas speed headers if you need a catted Y pipe.  I'm probably getting the Speed engineering headers because I want to use their X pipe and true dual exhaust, but there's plenty of room to add cats after the X pipe

I got the Speed Engineering 1 7/8 lt headers with a 3” exhaust and Carven TR mufflers and 5” tips, i wish i would have done it sooner but headers alone I spent less than $800 with install and retune but prices vary and the only thing is the CEL comes on every now and then but i can cruise around and you wouldnt know until i hit it WOT would definitely do it on my next truck

That sounds like a heck of a deal. dual with a crossover or an X pipe? Can you take a few pictures of the underside? Would there have been room to weld in two cats? If there is a way to install these headers with a pair of cats in the pipes just aft it f the collectors and keep it dual to the back axle for the +/- 800 + cat converter prices, I may be sold on this brand.

I spoke with Stainless Works, they are planning a 20% off sale for Black Friday. However they Do Not offer their Stainless Power “B” line for our trucks. So you are still looking at 1,600 ish for the headers and collector to cats X pipe.

Damn, it’s a beautiful set up. But somewhat cost prohibitive.

If you go on the website they have pictures of the underside of a truck with the exhuast setup. There's also a huge thread about it over on performancetrucks

For some reason my driver side ended up really close to my fuel lines so my guy told me to drive as little as possible until i got the exhaust fixed but the way they ran mine i have no clue about addin cats, not real strict on it in alabama so

I just emailed Speed Engineering for their thoughts and product recommendations on achieving long tubes with cats to a dual exhaust with exits behind the wheels and possibly adding two resonators after the axles.

i have looked at both the speed engineering and the texas speed. like others have said the reviews on the speed engineering is that they are "good". the question that i ask is who has them on a truck they drive year round. i wonder how they hold up to snow and large range heat cycles (-5 temps outside then operating temp then back down). most of the people i have talked to have them on summer cars. i guess im leaning towards texas speed just because of a more well known name brand.

I spoke with Speed Engineering, they said NO ONE to their knowledge has installed a set of their headers with a pair of catalytic converters on one of our trucks. He had no frame of reference for using his y connect or true dual with cats. He thought, you could buy the headers and the true dual set, then cut them up to accommodate your needs with some additional piping.

Im back to leaning toward a different set.
