Well folks, I did it. After all the failed attempts at the Chevy dealer I traded it in for a 2015 Ram 1500 Larame. I have to agree with the other folks on here that have done the same thing, it was the best decision I made and I am very happy. I will admit, it's disappointing though, this is my first non-GM car in close to 20 years. They really screwed the pooch on this one and lost a long time customer. Too bad they really don't care. Well, I am off to a nice, smooth vibrationless drive to the camp ground. I wish you all the best of luck and will remain subscribed to the thread. I am interested in the outcome.

If vibration gets any worse for me and dealer can't fix it I'm moving to a Ram 2500 or 3500 diesel crew cab long bed

csckickass, how was the ride to the lake? GM's lack of care may be every other automakers blessing.

Well everyone it's a sad day, one I thought i'd never see :nonod:

Two years ago today was the first post on the vibration issue :fume:

I'll admit it was hard to swllow how I was treated by GM and their blaintent lack

of customer loyalty while the whole time deeming my issues as ' Normal opperation '

It will not matter to GM if I never own one again, the record profits have clouded their

judgement and now I'll have the nice fuzzy feeling in what goes around comes around. !

I sincerely hope that everyone that is still having issues a real fix is in the not to distant future

and for the new members just joining, Yes we do feel your pain and what you've read here

is real world people that have been mistreated by GM and the Holyer then now attitude they have.

And remember, Be nice to the Dealer as he did not build this and has to play by GM rules or

risk loosing his franchise.

How do you like the 5.7 paired up with the 8spd compared to your 5.3/6spd?

I drove (2) loaded up 2015 High Country's at separate dealers.... one with the 5.3L and 20" wheels (Goodyear LS2) and the other with a 6.2L 22" wheels (Bridgestone Dueler)...

BOTH VIBRATE! The dealer with the High Country (20" Goodyear LS2's) told me that they cannot do ANYTHING for 500 miles, GM won't allow anything to be touched, altered until the vehicle has 500 miles on it.... I said, well I won't allow myself to buy a truck that vibrates!

They have since, in front of me called the GM rep who allowed the tires to be swapped, they also brought the computer and vibration sensors along... still vibrates! Another set of tires (still Goodyear LS2's) still vibrates...!!! However, as the service manager stated "it's within GM spec's" BS, I said, what a convenient set of parameters they are set to use. Explain the vibration?

(I had an issue with my 2011, for 30,000 miles Goodyear LS2's on it, "ohh you had a bad tire, we swapped it out"... but it still vibrates, "yeah, don't know, all seems good on our end"... same crap, for 30,000 miles! I decided to chance it and threw Michelins LTX M/S 2'S on it... it rode like a Cadillac! For the 2011, it took care of ALL vibration.)

The High Country with the 20" wheels and Goodyear LS2's... Do I want to buy new tires for a New Truck that has new Tires... Hell No! If I buy new tires, the Michelins LTX M/S2's and it does not resolve the vibration... I am out $900. If it did resolve, then beautiful... but I just spent $900 on new tires for a new truck that had new tires. CRAZINESS.

The High Country 6.2L with the 22" wheels, that dealer claimed "yeah we pulled the truck into service, ALL 4 wheels were out of balance, we even found one questionable Bridgestone Dueler so we swapped it out for a new one. We road tested, you're good to go... come on in and test drive it!" I did, still vibrates at 60+ worse as I got up to 80mph.

I can't do this... I can't spend this kind of money on this garbage! This isn't a new invention GM, "pick up trucks" have been around for nearly a century! You can't get this sh*t right?!?! I had these issues with my 2011 bought in December of 2010.

I keep hearing from members as to how isolated this issue is, but it seems like there's an ever growing list of people who test drive multiple new trucks that vibrate. I'm confident that the issue is much more widespread than we originally had thought.

Isolated :tear:

Just for a moment, think about the people that do not even know this site is here or the other two web sites

and have to go into the dealer just to hear ' It's Normal Opperation " :ninja:

MUCH MORE " Widespread " just wait until this hit's the fan ! it will make the ignition recall look like a cake walk :uhoh:

People's livelyhoods as well as their forms of transportation are a very big concern here !

Just why do you think that GM has not had ANY Customer Service people checking in like they used to ?

And as far as " hearing from members as to how isolated this issue is " I would hope that you might have them

post up their thoughts, I for one would like to bring them into reality !

I traded my vibrating GMC back in December and have been following this thread. It is amazing to me that it is still going. I really feel for you folks with these pieces of crap trucks. Keep up the good fight!

GM just authorized 4 new tires and new rear shocks based on the feedback from the vibration meter for my 2014 6.2 High Country. It will be interesting when I pick it up this week.

With new shocks and a used set of tires, on 18 inch rims, there was almost no vibration detected on the meter. But when the new GM approved set of tires were put on the old 20 inch rims the truck turned back into a vibrator. I agreed to let them keep the truck to experiment. With what they are paying for the rental SUV it would probably be cheaper to just buy me a set of American Racing riims and Michelins. I'm 99% sure that would resolve the issue.

Okay so my dealer wants me to pay to road force balance my tires. Said they won't cover it because it's part of normal maintenance. I've never had to rebalance tires after the initial setup.

What should I do? Tell them that I'll pay for it if it takes care of the issue? Tell them I'm not paying for it and they can pay for it?

First I need to take them on a ride and show them the vibration.

I'd say that you're not paying for it, as it is an attempt to repair the vibration, and if they won't pay for it, you'll keep bringing the truck back, and taking a rental until the Vibes are fixed. there is no reason you should have to pay for anything that may solve the problems.

I had Dodge Challengers up until recently. On one of the Challenger forums, they had what some, including dealership sponsors, called "isolated" timing chain breakage. On that thread the OP compiled a list of those on the forum with 5.7 auto trans cars who had their timing chains break. There were 55 at a certain point but when you considered that was for just a certain engine/trans and just for the people who belonged to that forum and posted on that forum, if you calculate out to the entire 5.7 Challenger's with automatic produced then the number becomes vast. Corporate remain silent for quite a while, then finally after about two years, did a recall. I see the same happening here. Eventually, they will be dragged into a recall.

I have the same experience with people not knowing. I spoke to a guy that has a vibrator. We went over the common symptoms then I said yeah, there is quite a number of complaints on the GM Truck forum.

He had not even went to the internet with his problems.

It seems like if I have a problem anymore, I go straight to the internet to help diagnose and fix, not only with cars but with all things in life.

I am not sure the older generations know what a helpful tool the internet can be,

If they agree that it has a Vibration, you should not have to pay for any problem solving... Get them to admit that it has a Vibration issue if they haven't yet... Sucks that you have to go through all this... Also sucks for the folks that are saying there Dealerships can't/won't Test Drive up to the MPH the vibration is occurring... They felt my 70-75 Vibration, admitted it and fixed it with a tire rotation and Re-Balance...

It's fixed for now but I still follow this thread and worry about it coming back beings I only have 5k miles on it... Took our niece and boyfriend to a concert this past weekend and all I concentrated on the ride there was if I felt a vibration or not... This coming from someone who doesn't drive Highway Speeds all that much... A lot of folks having this 70+ issue drive it everyday... Unreal!

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.
    • How about them NICKS!!!
    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
