Hi all first post (to this forum). Recently got a 2016 5.3L SLT Sierra from Laura Buick thanks to reading this forum. Been thinking about an Airaid MIT and tune. Realistically hope for a small mileage increase and 25ish hp along with better all around driving experience??? Then the other question is after reading all 55 pages seems like the 2 best options are probably Diablew and Blackbear. Both would essentially get the same end result correct? With the one caveat that Diablo currently does not yet support the 8 speed tranny, but assuming it soon does? Just want to get my mind wrapped around this correct before doing anything. Oh and Blackbear would provide updates if needed 'forever' and Diablew costs depending on when and how long out? Do I have my story straight?

Just got my truck tuned by my local tuner and jesus. What a difference. I have noticed about a 2 to 3 mpg increase and even the transmission seems to be running on avg 8 degrees cooler.

 

And i habe the tow/haul button modded to drop it into 1st at 30 for them rool races.

No, we are pretty different, first with using different software. EFILive offers a much larger suite of tables for changes, which is why we can tune for modifications. Most CMR tuners will not tune for anything above an intake swap. EFILive also allows for tuning of the new 6 and 8spds.

 

With over 10,000 vehicles tuned, most inperson and quite a few on load bearing dynos, we have a solid grasp on GM vehicles and their nuances. We have tuned from mild to wild setups, with all of our personal vehicles having heavy modifications done to them as well.

 

You are correct, we do not charge for tune updates.

 

We have quite a few customers who have switched over from other tuners/handhelds, happy to share those results if you shoot us an email.

Hi jennabear, what is Justin's current turn around on autocal tunes? I am in long beach area, are there any so cal in person tune days coming up? You guys tuned my last truck and I am thinking about having my 2015 5.3/6spd done as well. Are in person tunes dyno or street tunes? In either case do I need to reuse my autocal and is there any price break for current autocal customers? Please let me know. Thanks.

Since you already have an AutoCal, I would recommend going that route. Just follow the "Tuning Additional Vehicles" section in the instructions. Additional vehicles tune/license are $300. Right now there is a 2-3 business day turn around on AutoCal tunes, provided all appropriate data was sent in with the initial datalog.

 

We are in San Diego, so you are always welcome to come down here for an inperson tune, which are street tunes. Our dynos are out in Lake Havasu, if you are willing to drive there, that is a possibility as well.

So just had Justin tune my Truck and all I can say is WOW. What a difference.

 

Throttle response and shifting is where it should be. Unbelievable how easy the process was.

Anyone who is using diablo canned tunes, is there much difference between the 87 and 91 tune?

Has anyone who has been running a diablew tune for a while now experienced that it loses some of the responsiveness after the truck relearns? It's still better than stock, but not as responsive and fun as it used to be.

I noticed that on my last truck wither another tune on it. would run really smooth and crisp for a week or two, then back to rough shifts. couldn't ever figure that out, chocked it up to tired 4l60 and a shift kit that wasn't playing nicely with the tune.
