I've had the standard BDS kit installed for a couple weeks now, months ago I had placed an order for some custom Icon suspension goodies and they are finally starting to arrive.

Billet UCA's and custom spec rear shocks have arrived, estimated about 3 more weeks for my custom spec coilovers to finish being built, woohoo!

What size lift do you have? Also if you don’t mind me asking how much did they cost you?

That's good to know. I didn't know they would do custom lengths like that. Can't wait to see them on your truck.

Yeah that's one thing I really love about Icon. They are already a great company but the fact you can work with them directly on custom builds is pretty amazing. Just expect about an 8 week lead time, which seems fair to me.

Nothing special, I just have the standard BDS 6" kit right now. The BDS, Pro Comp etc 6" kits just add a 6" spacer on top of the factory front strut, my custom coilovers will overall be the same length as the new setup but it will be full coilover and no spacer.

As for pricing, it's pretty "inexpensive" considering it's custom to whatever specs you give them. Just look on their website for a similar product and if you want it custom just add roughly $200.

For the front I opted for the 2.5 Coilovers with CDCV which offers 10 levels of user selectable compression damping with the quick turn of a knob, and same for the rear shocks. Roughly I think it was around $2200 for the coilovers and $1400 for the rear shocks, give or take. The billet UCA's aren't custom, they are just their standard build so normal pricing there, but they naturally offer a full range of adjustments.

After I get everything installed I'll be doing a custom Deaver leaf spring in the rear to remove the 5" block that was added as part of the kit. Should be a super smooth setup once it's all done.

I will mention I agree this is all overkill for my needs :) I'm not doing any major offroading with this truck. I mean, I do have 22"s with 35's... not really the ideal setup for major offroading haha. But the suspension will definitely be able to handle whatever I throw at it.

Awesome thanks for the info I have a pro comp 6” on mine and I’m really interested on a coilover setup but been waiting on fox shocks to make something I may definitely go with ICON heard many good things about them.

No problem! Yeah definitely other good companies out there such as Fox, I had Icon on my Tundra and was really happy with it so wanted to stick with Icon again.

And nobody has a coilover for the 6" kits yet on our trucks so custom was the only way right now :) So just one more reason to go Icon! I'll keep you posted once they arrive, I'll be installing pretty much right away, should be a fairly simple swap.

Sneak peak of the rear shocks since that’s all I have so far. These shocks are beasts! They look great, stout, and 10 levels of adjustment with the twist of a knob.

6 inch fab tech.    35 inch nitto.    20 inch fuels.    Road and looks great.   Just put load lifter 5000 air bags on rear and ride quality sucks even at 5 psi.   Gonna have to figure that out.

Stupid question. Are those shocks mounted upside down?

Looks great indeed! Not as many Fab techs on here yet so good to see more of a mix up starting to hit the roads. Not great about the air bags even at 5psi. Further down the road I may be interested in some air bags if I start towing more but it will be limited so I'm very interested in a setup that won't affect anything when not in use.

Not stupid, good question! :) For this truck/setup, this is correct, they are mounted cans down. It all depends on the truck and how the shock was designed for a specific truck and clearance etc. I did confirm with Icon as well because you never know.

I’m going to play with air pressures to see if I can find a sweet spot. If I can’t they are coming off and my rear end will have to squat a bit when I pull my bass boat

Are you going to wrap the shock or exhaust with some heat shielding material to protect the shock from the exhaust?

Hmmm, good question! I actually didn’t think about that, I’m definitely thinking about it now haha.
I’ll look into options for that.

I know those Icons are pricey and I wouldn't want them damaged if that was me. It might not even bother them but I would at least get with icon or 4wp to see what they say.
