Shake or Vibration Issues

Another new set of tires installed today and they say the PicoScope shows it to be vibration free. We shall see, i'm going to pick it up shortly.

I didn't read this whole topic but mainly read that people are having vibration issues with gas pedal and steering wheel. Not my issue but, has anybody had issues while turning and TCS light comes on and gas pedal shudders?

I would imagine its most likely associated with your lift. Maybe ask on this thread.

It seems like increasing the size of the tires can cause this too, when turning the computer thinks your tires are turning at an abnormal speed, making traction control/stabilitrak turn on. Programming for larger tires might help.

I would request PICO reports from before AND after so you can compare. Validate their data, otherwise its just hearsay.

I agree with your thoughts. I have replaced all shocks on my truck and it has helped some but not cured. I have looked at those Sulastic shackles and they really do look like they could work but I am just about done spending money on this thing. I keep looking at new rigs as well....I sure do love the way my truck looks just not in love with driving it on the highway.

Well I pulled the trigger on the sulastic shackles. They have a lot of good reviews so we shall see. Should have them next week and install them next weekend. I'll let you know how the install goes and if they improve the ride quality.

New Chevy owner (2015 Chevy LT Crew, 5.3L V8) - just picked up truck from dealer yesterday. Test ride went ok, didn't notice any vibration. Felt a bit of a vibration at 35-40mph, thought maybe its the wheel balance.. then I find this thread. Oh boy.. I thought I was moving away from Ford to a more reliable design that's been proven. Did not expect this.

I've read a bit of the thread (but not all 356 pages!!)

Is there a summary of what to do? I've seen tires, driveshaft balance, pinion angle, tie rods, rear end.. etc listed as being root cause but is there a summary of what the fixes are? Does it depend on the truck?

The vibration is not that bad and I can feather the gas to help it. It actually drives great at highway speeds. Love the truck otherwise. A question for the community: should I live with a slight vibration or do I bring back to the dealer to fix? Will they make it worse? Should I wait until GM figures it out?

If I do have a problem down the road, I want to make sure that I've documented the fact that I'm having the same issue. That's one argument for taking it to the dealer.

Mine used to be a slight vibration and didn't pay no mind to it. In the last few thousand miles I've really noticed it and even my friend said something about it. Now anytime I get to 75+ mph that's all I can concentrate on is the vibes

If its not that bad and you can deal with it then don't let this thread get to you. Some people read so much about problems online that they end up convincing themselves that they too have the problem. If yours gets worse over time GM will most likely have it narrowed down. Right now GM is saying its a combination of parts that weren't manufactured to spec. So they start by checking/replacing the lowest cost parts and work there way through the potentially faulty parts.

Picked up the truck at 11 AM and took it for a 50 mile ride, including a little highway run. Right now it seems fine but I need to take it for a longer highspeed run before i say anything is or is not resolved.

Being Friday there was too much traffic heading to Cape Cod so I didn't get to really give it a solid test. I'm going to RI on Tuesday so I'll get a better feel for it then as I've made that trip many times and I know one spot that triggers it every time.

And Jesse D, if you are south of Boston and want to take a test ride, just let me know. I'd love the get an opinion from someone else who is actually experiencing the same issue.

I'd take it in to atleast get it documented if nothing else. If it is very slight like your saying, it could potentially be something as simple as the tires, improper alignment, etc. as some other people have found with their trucks. alternatively, you could be starting the same process many of us are dealing with now. hahaha I hear ya on the cape traffic, I was heading home from Boston at about 2:35 ish, and it was a typical summer friday on 93, I expected it to pick up a bit once I got past the split, but it didn't change all that much. That being said, yes I do live South of Boston, I would definitely like to see how your truck is now, and you can tell me how you think mine is. I will say that I feel that the majority of the vibration is more related to the engine than the rear diff, drive shaft etc (personally, I think that the way they have the engine mounting bracket is a bad design which causes alot of the vibration I have). I do think that i may have a couple bad tires, but again GM is refusing to do anything to my truck. but without any testing and work being done I refuse to rule ANYTHING out.

I'm really curious to see your results with the shackles. I've contemplated ordering a set, but for the price I'd hate for them to not help. If they work, you'll be our hero.

I'm really curious to see your results with the shackles. I've contemplated ordering a set, but for the price I'd hate for them to not help. If they work, you'll be our hero.

Hopefully I end up being the hero and not the guinea pig that wasted 400 dollars.
