do you mean corroded? I'm not seeing cracks, or am I just missing it?

Yeah I know the pictures not great but the rubber bushing is cracked pretty good.

Ok, I see what you're talking about. I just checked mine, they look good at 12,500 miles

Got outta that headache. Didnt wanna waste time fighting GM, so cut my losses. I will never buy another GM product. Ive only driven gm trucks since i was 16 in 1988. Never again. I get a new truck every few years and GM will never get my business again. Wife has a '13 suburban. When it dies we will go ford or toyota. Im really liking this platinum. Just picked it up today. Im sure it could have some kinks. But drove it home 40 miles. No shake and the ecoboost was pulling 19.5 mpg..

I find it even more disturbing that there are so many 2015 Chevy/GMC trucks on dealership lots with low miles. Majority are GM Certified Pre-Owned. We all know that many are pretty much buy-backs/trades that were moved from one dealer to the next.

A friend of mine just picked up a Ford last month and loves it, he was going to buy a Chevy because of the deep discounts. I advised as to why they were so heavily discounted.

Nice truck, the new f150's have grown on me the past 6 months or so. The thing that hasn't grown on me is the ecoboost motors. I personally would have opted for the 5.0, but in reality an HD truck is really more suited for my needs. I'll wear this truck out before too long

Update, today I took it in for an oil change and to have them look at the vibration and suggested they check the u-joint torque. The service manager and I drove around for half-an-hour and he said and I quote.. "Uhh.. you have an issue with the rear-end, sounds like the Ring and Pinion by the whine.. we had had quite a few issues as of late and if the ring is bad it will cause this vibration you have so we are gonna rebuild the rear-end, good thing you have a loaner.. and btw.. we are gonna re-check the tires too and shocks and struts as well"

Sounds like they are at least taking it all seriously.

Will update when I learn more.

Follow-up

Yep that was a waste of effing time, talk about a load of horse-shit! they keep the truck a week and all they do is balance the wheels and tell me once again "different tire this time" I have an OUT OF ROUND TIRE that is so bad that RFB'ing can't balance it and since I scrubbed a curb with my tire it is not covered under warranty and if I want it fixed I need to buy a new one.

oh and yes.. they put the tire on the right-rear again.

$250.00 is way too much for a GOODYEAR Wranger SR-A 18" tire.

Oh and I need to setup another appointment to look at the rear-end?? I don't think GM gives a shit about the quality of their cars and trucks or the quality of their repair dealerships.

I should NOT be having theses effing issues with a 2105 Silverado 1500 with 29,000 miles.

Just like longhorncop, I fixed my Chevy Shake issue too. The last straw was a horrible ride back home from a job 3 states over. After hearing ice smash against the sides of a cup filled with soda so loudly for about 5 hours, and the faulty bluetooth, it was done. The truck had to go, and fast.

Something is clearly wrong with the 1/2 ton GM trucks. Mine was a regular cab short box. Everything fell into place to dump the truck - and I did without hesitation.

Dealership opened early on Sunday and the 150 mile trip was strangely enough very smooth with the Chevy. No idea why but I don't care about it any longer.

For those lingering with a Chevy Shake truck, dump it or get GM to buy it back but buy the replacement from a different manufacturer. RAM, Ford and Toyota make great trucks. Check them out - they make great trucks.

The Shakerado will get plenty of shop time all over the country. Once there are enough lengthy repairs and buy-backs someone at a GM or third party shop will find the real answer.

My truck is going to another dealership this week since mine wants to deny there is a problem. I also love how the GM customer service representative here went silent on me. Don't pay me lip service, pay my truck note until it stops shaking. No accountability.

So I found out from a friend of mine that either someone at GM or at one of the 2 dealerships I've had service at, has put a note in the system that I am a "aggravated customer". Well no shit GM lmfao

    • Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young pullets, and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Fred's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention. Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.
    • Can someone confirm if the GM order workbench terminal is able to validate a custom build sequence:   1) Initialize the Allocation Base: Open a new vehicle build queue, select the 2026 Chevrolet Suburban 4WD, and pick the High Country (3LZ Preferred Equipment Group).   2) Select the Diesel Powertrain: Go directly to the engine configuration screen and choose RPO code LZ0 (3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel). Ensure it maps to the MHS 10-speed automatic transmission.   3) Deploy the Seating Swap: Navigate to the Interior Options screen and enter RPO code ATT to replace the standard captain's chairs with the power-release 60/40 bench seat. Because you are not trying to force a separate luxury or air-suspension bundle, the standard, premium D07 Fixed Floor Console remains active. The system will accept this change immediately without triggering a warning message.   3)Apply Heavy-Duty Hauling Capability: Input RPO code NHT (Max Trailering Package). The commercial terminal will automatically bundle the required trailering hardware and software modules to support the diesel engine's maximum towing capacity.   5) Layer the Premium Tech and Glass: Separately add code C3U (Panoramic Power Sunroof) and code UKL (Super Cruise) to the order screen.   6) Run the Final Validation: Click the "Validate Order" button at the bottom of the interface.
    • Spent the last hour or 2 googling and reading up on the spacer thing. I don't like the loss of thread contact on the slip on spacers, but it appears you can get "extended" lug nuts that reach into the hole of the wheel to get back the lost threads. Looks like the only true hubcentric slip on spacers are at least .375". I'd want as little as I could get away with and don't want to cause other clearance issues going any thicker. Bora seems to offer what appears to be a well made .375" spacer and extended lug nuts. I searched here and did find a couple threads recommending Bora. But not cheap. By the time I buy spacers and lugs, new TPMS sensors, then pay a tire shop to install the new sensors, I suspect I'm going to be in over $400. Thinking about running out and getting some washers to put behind the wheel to see if .375" is enough to clear calipers, turn lock to lock without rubbing, and to see if the wheels/tires look strange pushed out a little. This would just be to check fitment.
    • Roadmaster makes some quality parts; I have their sway bar. I considered the RAS, but I ended up bagging. I didn't know what kind of ride I'd get with RAS, and the bags have interior jounce bumpers, so I can run 0 pounds pressure. I figured I'd have the best of normal suspension ride with assist on-demand. But it seems you got pretty much the same in one item.
