Ok, question on this... I watched the you tube videos, and saw the cup of waters vibrate, at idle my water vibrates a little, and stays constant until I hit 65mph, my dad's been going threw vibration issues with his 2012 Toyota tacoma crew long bed, and said mines better than his but he still felt it, is some vibration to be expected on a full size truck, or is this not normal, I never noticed this in my last car (Honda civic) perhaps I'm just reading to much into it because of this forum? Ps I have 550 miles

GM gave me trade in assistance cash to offset the negative equity on the truck and I traded it for another. First truck was an LT 4x4 crew with leather. Pretty plain truck, bench seat ect... It was built 06/13. My newer truck is an LTZ Z71, everything but a sunroof and collision package built 03/14 0 issues. Both crew cabs, same engine, wheel base and rear end. I don't think its the tranny as much as I do the converter... Good luck, I had enough with the vibration but I loved the way the new trucks looked so I gave GM another shot. They really did take care of me. The vibration came in at 72~83 on the highway only.

Did you end up paying more for the new truck or were you able to negotiate for a higher model truck? They are offering to buy mine back but want me to pay the difference between msrp of my truck and whatever new truck i pick out.. I was trying to switch into a 2500 but they want about 6-7k more.. Just trying to figure what kind of deal people are getting on their buy backs because of the vibration and other problems.

Okay so here is a bizarre update on my truck. I load up my 3000 lb boat for the long weekend drive 400 miles and have vibration above 65mph all the way to my destination. I pack up and drive back, no vibration at all. I unhook my boat when I get home and decide just to go for a quick drive up the highway just to see if its still good and guess what still no vibration at all right up to 100mph. I hope it's gone for good but for some reason I think not.

It was an even trade but the rebates on the Ltz were less, so I ended up paying roughly $800 more for the LTZ Z71.

Could have been the stretch of highway or road? My ride to work isnt too bad...on the way home in the other lane it's the worst ot does it. I can drive the opposite way any time and at any temp and it's very good. I've believe I've almost gotten to know when and where the vibration will happen because of where it happened in the past...or by look of the pavement. The most road sensitive vehicle I've even owned and driven. There still could be something else there at play too but there are roads I can drive that I get a good ride on so, hard to say. If the engineers can't figure it out I dont think I will either. I have to decide if I can live with it or move on.

The vibration I sometimes feel in my truck I wouldn't have paid attention to if it wasn't for reading this thread. The down side I believe, to one of the things we like about these trucks, they are so smooth and quite. I agree in some cases that people have real problems with their trucks, its bound to happen when you produce so many trucks. The same thing could be said about wheels, tires and balance. Some of my biggest fights have been buying new tires, I set aside a day and prepare for the battle. In my case so far its all been road related, if the road is bad it shakes a little, I run lower air pressure too which helps a lot.

You should expect to pay more if the truck you are looking at is more than the one you currently own. I am in the process of a buy back now and all I look at is the MSRP because that is what they are using as a basis to compare costs. If it's a few hundred dollars more they might eat it to keep you happy but I would not expect $6-7k, especially since you are considering going from a 1500 to a 2500. I was also told that they would cover any price escalation costs if there is a price increase in cost for a truck that is exactly the same. Be patient though, it's somewhat of a slow process because the deal has to be approved by several people before it can go through. Now the problem for me is that the deliveries on the 14's have slowed in anticipation of the 15's so I'm having trouble finding one I like. Also, hopefully this goes without saying but you need to test drive the new truck on the highway at up to 75 mph to make sure you are happy. I've driven a total of 6 now and 4 had terrible vibration that was worse than mine. Of the two that I liked, I made the mistake in thinking that GM would cover the difference in cost to keep me happy and it was $4,000 more than my current truck. I was wrong and didn't want to pay that much of a difference so I had to walk away from it. I am waiting to hear back on the second one I liked to confirm that they will accept the buy back. It's been a week since I drove that one and I am waiting to hear back from GM. Good luck and my advice is to be patient and remain calm.

This is the same thing I am going through.. I have not found a 4x4 1500 that didn't vibrate and that's why I am venturing into the 2500.. The 6.0 liter is a dog IMHO so I told them I wanted diesel. This is where the price difference come in. I completely agree that it should pay part of the difference but another 6-8k adds a significant amount. So I am finding I have to wait for a 2015 1500 that doesn't vibrate or pay this amount for a 2500 LTZ .. Or get a LT 2500 for a little less.. Right now I am trying to weight the options on if it's worth going diesel. It doesn't make sense now to get a 14 anyways since the 15s are coming out and there not offering us the rebates on the 14s. I really hope they have this fixed on the new trucks. I believe they are offering me a 1000 dollar discount on the msrps also.. What I am trying to find out is if they will offer other things like an extended warranty or 0 percent financing on the new truck.. Can anyone who's done a buy back already please chime in and let us know what they did for you? Thanks!

I was just thinking on the way to work today, I wonder if some peoples vibrations are stemming from the new "sheer style" body mounts. Maybe there is a bad batch out there that transmit more of the drivetrain vibration into the cabin.

Just a thought.

Just rolled 10,500 miles still no vibrations for me.

UGH....after 15,000 miles of perfection, the truck developed a wicked vibration. Had the tires rebalanced, now going to the dealer tomorrow. After reading as many of these pages as I could, it seems there isn't a standard fix, it's a lollygag of items thrown at the truck. I hope my experience doesn't mirror the experience of a few of you poor owners on this issue!

Overall though, I'm really happy with the truck, I just hope it stays that way.

I am also working on the buy back program. I was told i will get the msrp value of my truck on what i pick out. I found one that doesnt vibrate. It is 1300 more than mine. The dealer said i should be able to get that covered. They are telling me 30 to 45 days for the process. The dealer is holding the new truck

I'm having a vibration issue as well in my 14 rcsb sierra 4.3.. 2wd sle

It comes and goes, but seems to be more often when I'm in 4cyl mode..

There are soo many pages in this thread, and I didn't read them..I know I should but I honestly don't have time but I did skim through.

Is there an answer? Driveshaft? Tranny? Engine unbalanced when it goes to 4cyl mode...

Thank you

Joshua

I feel for you guys. I had mine for 3 months...3 of the longest months of my life. I was just never happy with the truck. I had the vibrations (1500 CC Z71) and the dealership where I bought it (and 3 other GM vehicles the past 5 years) stopped troubleshooting after swapping out rims and tires, and told me I needed to wait for a TSB.

I could have pushed the issue, but I wasn't upside down and decided to cut my ties with GM and bought a 2014 Tundra, which I am very happy with thus far.

Good luck fellas...I hope GM steps up and helps you guys out.
