I took my truck in last week, after being contacted by the general manager and te service manager. I went as far as sending this Forum link to them. I was told that my antenna base was stripped out and it was losing ground. This is after i told them my reception was worst when the fog lights were on. That was the 3rd time i took my truck in. The first 2 times i was blown off like i was nuts. So they order the parts along with the parts to keep my seat from moving (2nd time for that, 1st time i got the your nuts look). Sad part is that i had to get the general manager involved.

So i take my truck back next week, i'll keep you posted.

Normally I just shrug off the every now and then crappy reception, but today I was actually swearing at the radio. It was constantly doing the "acquiring the signal" crap and repeating the previous sentence. I was trying to listen to the baseball game and the constant repeating was literally driving me nuts!! Unbelievable how bad these radios really are!!

Had to vent. I feel a little better now. :)

my 2014 silverdo is terrible as far as radio reception, I listen to a couple strong talk radio AM stations here in the valley and I can be in town and the people are talking and it sounds like I am 100 miles out of town driving through the mountains and it fades in and out, similar with FM stations but reception is good but goes from sounding OK to sounding like the music or person talking is in a tunnel!!

I did find one fix that works, I open the menu and turn the HD signal identify OFF and whether on AM or FM the channel clears up and sounds like a normal radio only problem is everytime you change radio channels the HD signal option turns back on, so now I change channels open menu turn off HD signal, pain in the butt for something as simple as a radio in an expensive truck that doesn't work as well as my first AM/FM radio I had in my first car a gazzilion years ago!!

*** UPDATE ***

Heard from the Chief Engineer today, said they finally have a software update that works and should correct the issue. They are going to try and update my truck next week and then give me a couple of days to see if the update works.

I will follow up with more info once I get everything in place.

Wondering if you got the update yet and if it worked? Thanks.

Yea !!!!???

Good to hear. Do you have any specific information I should tell my dealer? Tsb#, etc...

Nothing yet, I go in to meet the engineers on Thursday to have the update applied. I am not sure if it will be quick enough for me to take the truck then or if they are giving me a loaner.

Thanks for taking the time to work with GM and to share the information on the issue.

I got my truck back last night, they replaced the antenna base and cable. Also told me my LED fog lights where causing the static. Radio is better but the constant HD switching is annoying.

Dealer called me just a bit ago to confirm the apt and let me know the infotainment engineers would be there in the morning. Sounds like they are bringing a module that has already been flashed with them, I am thinking to maybe expedite the down time. They want to do some more drive time analysis to see if the update fixes the issue or not. I guess that way if it is worse they can put my old module back in and start over.

Glad to hear it's better but sorry to hear it's not "fixed".

I doubt very much the LED fog lights would cause any static, but that's easy to check just by unplugging the bulbs and comparing the results.

    • Hello All!   My 2019 Colorado 3.6 LT, 4WD Crew Cab has approximately 77,500 miles and I recently began experiencing the well-known transmission shudder between about 30 and 65 mph. The problem had worsened to the point that I could no longer attribute it to road conditions - and I had decided to bring the truck to the dealer - when recently, I experienced a sudden loss of power while driving at maybe 40 MPH. Several warning lights flashed, the “Check Stabilitrack” message appeared, and the Check Engine, Stabilitrack, and Traction Control icons remained illuminated. The truck regained driving power, but it stayed in a low gear with unusually high RPMs for the speed. (limp mode?) Because I was only about two miles from home, driving slowly, I was able to make it back and run an OBD-II scan, which showed fault codes U0101, P0700, and U0100. My next trip in the truck was to drive it to the dealer the following day. That trip began normally, but after about a mile I experienced another loss of power, along with the same warning lights and the same “Check Stabilitrack” message. As before the truck remained driveable, but again operated at an abnormally high RPM-to-speed ratio and seemed stuck in a single gear. About a mile later, the dashboard lit up once more, this time displaying “Check 4WD.” Soon after that, I arrived at the dealer. I have verified that the truck still has its original factory transmission fluid, which means it has never received the corrective fluid exchange outlined in GM Technical Service Bulletin #18-NA-355.  That was Thursday of last week and I've heard nothing yet from the dealer.    According to Technical Service Bulletin #18-NA-355 and the build date of my truck, my truck should have the newer LV fluid. I've done a little research and read something about a problem with the wiring harness as well.   Anyone have an insights into this situation?  Thank you!!

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.
