Was wondering if anyone has tried a superchip programmer yet. Is there a reason no one has used one? Curious on why the people with can tunes are going only with the hypertech or diablo is there a certain reason for this? Any help would be apreciated.

I know that the superchips' tuned on the ecoboost were hot and had quite a bit detonation...the canned tunes are only as good as they are written...

Not many people posting if they have them.

I used a superchip programmer on my 07 avalanche with cai/cat back and I wasn't impressed at all. I had some pre-ignition and the engineering guys could never fix it. Plus they didn't allow tq management changes.

Ive had 4 in person tunes from Justin at BlackBear, I highly recommend them.

Just got my custom tune from Lew installed and it's like driving a completely different truck! Still need to do a WOT log for him. Plan on getting some long tube headers in the future which requires another tune i believe.

Autocal sounds like the one to go with after reading 56 pgs. I just don't want to void my warranty. Main desire for me is to disable afm and get better feel in throttle/tran response.

I'm in the same boat. I want to get it tuned to get rid of afm, get a little more out of it, get rid of the Speedo limit. I am concerned like most but am just waiting to see if anything happens then I'll pull the trigger. I have 16k already and bought it in July. Seeing companies put superchargers on these and pushing 500-600 out of these make me feel confident in these engines. If they can handle that range without damaging things then the power train should be good. I would like to get back into the 500+ hp range. Coming from a diesel being around that power. It was nice to have power available.

I waited 15k miles before I got my tune. They way I thought about it was, if the engine has a design flaw, or a manufacturing defect, it will show itself before 15k miles. Like the guy with the 5.3 with less than 10k miles, his engine threw a rod out of nowhere.

Saw a post from someone where his 6.2 threw a rod at 16k. No warning signs just out of the blue.

That's the one I was talking about. Honestly, stuff like that happens to all manufactures. I wouldn't take it as an inducement that 6.2 are flawed. Shit happens and that's why its nice to have a warranty.

Yea things happen.I'm not saying that there are bad or have issues. See far less recalls and complaints about the 6.2 compared to the 5.3

I bought one after buying a 2015 Silverado and I'm not super impressed with it not like I was for the one I had for my 09 Pontiac G8 GT. I'm having issues with the trans settings and have been working with Superchips to see what the deal is. Kinda wish I would have went with the Diablo now. I'm getting a lot of hard shifts even when set to stock settings for the trans. Hopefully they can figure out what the deal is. Even when the truck was not tuned or set to totally stock I still experienced the hard shifting, chatter and gear hunting. The dealer tells me that it's "characteristic of that transmission" for what I have been experiencing.

Just got my truck tuned, feels like the truck woke up a little bit. I had a question though, got my tune done by a friend here in town but the actual tuning was done by the guys at Wait4MePerformance. I noticed when I'm at a stop light or just stopped in traffic the truck shakes a little bit now. Enough for me to actually notice it. Anyone have this happen to them?

No, seems like something might be off in the TCM tune.

Nope, not with mine. Could it be that the idle RPM is a tade too low now? Would that be something they'd have adjusted?

I went ahead and emailed them. I didn't really ask for anything specific, just more power & better driveability and then just got a tune done.

I wouldn't know honestly, I'd be lying if I said that I noticed a different in how much the RPM's idled before but they looked to be around the same. I may be wrong though.
