Your truck was definitely NOT an LTZ (fully loaded) at 30k. My 05 LT ( comparable to an LTZ) was about 42k, my 08 LTZ vortec max was 45k so the trucks have been expensive for a while. Fully loaded hasn’t been 30k since the 90s. Hell, even my ‘13 LT was 45k sticker.

I should have said, "FAIRLY" loaded - it's an LT.

Still doesn't justify SIXTY-FRIGGIN-GRAND for a PICKUP TRUCK! Think about that for a minute!

These truck prices are getting insane! I’ll wait until 20% off is available. Got my 2015 CCSB LT for 34k. Would love to see some LT prices around there for this new model.

My point exactly. ^^^^^^^^^

The Trail Boss is going to Top out around $58K with all options.

Sierra's AT4 will be about 61k

Mine was 58 and is loaded. It has some options my wife’s Lexus doesn’t. My fully loaded pickups have been in the 40s and 50s since 2005 (13 years ago) so jumping into 60 isn’t a stretch for a loaded truck. You can get a “fairly loaded” LT for in the low 40s easily.

And then obviously you can usually always get a decent amount off the sticker.

That's my point! It's ridiculous!!

Nothing on these trucks is worth anything remotely close to that. My truck was worth $10k on a good day. I got a lemon ... so worth even LESS! We're paying for corporate mismanagement & corruption, and corrupt unions.

People continue buying them, so this will never change. It's only going to get worse. We'll be seeing $100,000 pickups in 5 years or less, I'd wager.

It’s called inflation and supply/demand. It is what it is. And you can build Denali HDs and Super Duty platinums into the 80s already so it’s not far off. The higher model trucks (LTZ, SLT, High Country, and Denalis) are loaded with some really nice features. Features comparable to luxury cars and SUV’s so of course you’re going to pay a premium for them.

I wouldn't buy a new truck that wasn't 20% off.

Ridiculous! Prices go up, while they cut more corners. Amazes me they continue to sell!  It's not just them, although they're the worst of them all as far as pricing goes.

My truck fully loaded in '07 was $30 LARGE. Are the new trucks worth DOUBLE mine? HELL NO. I can buy alot of fuel (and failed modules or hard parts) for $30 LARGE!

So, you drop $60k ... now you get a HUGE tax bill on that in one form or another (in MA, you get TWO - one at the time of sale, and another annually [called an excise tax] for the rest of the vehicle's life - 1st 4 years are the highest bills), and your insurance goes WAY up, since now the insurance company would have to cough all that money up should something happen. Now, once the warranty is up, which will be in 2 years these days with the miles people put on them, you get to pay for all the cheaply engineered parts built in 3rd world countries that WILL fail one after the other. Every year it's something new that pattern-fails these days. With the K2's, it's injectors (and probably alot more that we won't hear about for a few more years).

And when the 10-speed tranny takes a dump around 90k miles (because it is "unserviceable" - "lubed for life!" ) wait until you get the estimate for THAT rebuild!  The cheapout continues. There's a reason the axles are lighter than last year's models. Once you get past the shiny metal, comfy ride, and wonderful smells of the new components, things aren't as pretty all of sudden.

Will never buy new again as long as I live. There is ZERO bang for your buck. The crappy part is, most people will not realize this until they've owned the vehicle longer than 5 years.

Except no. In 1999 when Chevy had the 99 classic which carried over the 98 body style due to the strike. I priced a fully loaded z71 it was 29k. Keep smoking that stuff. Its killed your brain. 30k for a 2007 ltz my a$$

Err, except .. YEAH ... I see reading comprehension isn't your strong point, so let me help you.

If you scroll up a few posts, someone already called me on the mistake I made. It's an LT2, and I indeed paid $30,000 for it. You have access to my bank statements, do you?

Dude you said fully loaded. An lt isnt fully loaded. Plus you're comparing crew cab prices to an extended cab. Price out a fully loaded crew cab in 2007. You can add 15 to 20k

For comparison, $36,325 in 2007 is just under $44k in today's money. Inflation is a wonderful thing.

If you actually paid $30,000 then you are also comparing out the door price with the new model's MSRP, because that window sticker gives an MSRP of $36,325. $6000 is not a rounding error. 2019+ Silverados will be discounted from MSRP, just like past models.

Point I'm trying to make here is, $30,000 back in '07  FAR EXCEEDED what that vehicle is worth to me. So, $50,000 is OFF THE CHARTS.

The trucks haven't got $20,000 better in the quality department, I can assure you.

I just picked up an 18 denali ultimate. Msrp 64k. Purchase price 51k. For 21k I get a truck fully loaded with the 6.2. The body wont rust. I have a better ride in the magnetic ride control. Yea I think for 11 years worth of inflation and the extra options it was well worth an extra 21k

You seriously believe the body won't rust?

You could get a 2018 LT for low 40s ALL DAY out the door. That’s only a 10g difference in a span of 11 years. Come on bro.......
