The front end reminds me too much of a crossover. This is the first new Sierra redesign to come out that I immediately did not want to own. On top of that, those fog lights in the side profile  look horrendous.

WTF is with the wheel well openings? Looks like they couldn't decide between round or square. Not a fan of the front grille, way too big imo. I like the Silverado better.

I think I prefer the Silverado... We will see, I'll probably buy a new truck in 3-4 years - kinda depends on how the new midsize trucks look at the time as I am liking my Colorado quite a bit currently but, can't beat the comfort of the full size rigs.

I'd like to see the all terrain model or the lifted version.  I really finds it strange GMC didn't use a electronic shifter, also the use of a twin panel moon roof, Also on the denial the use of a information larger screen, a full digital DIC also cooled sets.

Actually is there anything this time around that is Denali class exclusive? doesn't appear...

I think they said more to follow in a month at another show . GM reveal on the 19 is like the old movie hits of the 70's and 80's .....Stay tuned for the next ''Sequel''.

The fender openings remind me of a Tacoma. Round in the front and square in the back. I’m not impressed.

I agree 100% . I think the designers need to put a TIRE right by their desk. Round tire, Round hole.

And for the "lifted" crowd. A non concentric "hole" in the fender looks worse lifted with a round tire in it...

Reminds me of the older GMC Terrain square fender deal.. yuk

A big disappointment on the interior. I thought this was supposed to be a complete redesign?  Looks like a refreshed interior to me.  A trailering app and how to hook up a trailer, really? If you need all that then you do not need to be towing a trailer.

Tailgate is nice but at what cost if it gets damaged?  At least for those of us that use our trucks as trucks.

Not much of a change on the front end. I don't see much of a difference like on the Silverado.

Carbon fiber bed might be strong, but how will it hold up to a shovel digging into it while unloading gravel, or pitchfork with mulch?

I like the HUD, with today's technology it should be standard across all models.  Heck our 2016 Mylink system isn't functioning properly and GM said there isn't anything they can do about it, keep waiting on an update that never seems to be coming.  Really GM? Just take a functioning Mylink out of one on the lot and put it in ours.  Problem solved.

I waited for this redesign to show up... I see it and I honestly can say "Meh.."  and this is coming from a guy that was so looking forward to this big "redesign".... I am actually in the market for a new truck and purposely waited until today to see this big reveal.... not overly impressed, and this is the Denali "top tier" model.

My impression.... side profile looks like a Tundra.... front grill/lights look like a bastard child of a Ford F-250 and a Dodge RAM.  Interior, nicer lay out but nothing ground breaking for sure.  Trailer assist... seriously??  I mean if you can't hook up to a trailer with just the rear camera then I don't want to be behind you towing whatever it is that you felt the need for "assistance" to hook it on,

Side front badging... Ford rip off

Carbon fibre bed?  I am sure there are a team of Ford technicians working on a commercial right now that will show them breaking it somehow.

The GM designers are getting lazy IMHO..... I'm shocked they never tried to "sneak in" a set of "Ford stepped driver's window's" while they were at it :D

I waited for this redesign to show up... and now I will resume my interest in either a '18 Sierra Elevation or a '18 Silverado LTZ

Extremely disappointed in this truck.  This truck is no longer a plausible choice for anyone other than a big city lawyer.  The wheel wells are awkward and seem even SMALLER for larger tires than the current trucks.  That tailgate is horrendous.  There is too much 'tech and gadgets' in these trucks and the pricing has gotten absolutely absurd.  GM doesn't get my money for this monstrosity of a vehicle.

I wish the OP mentioned that GMC will be doing something big March 27th at the NYC Auto show.

I can only hope GMC will do something far more radical than Chevy did with the trailboss.

I’m wondering why GMC decided not to do a projection styled LED headlight instead of a Halogen looking LED headlight. It looks cheap.

The new tailgate is on every model as confirmed via GMC Facebook live chat.

Overall, this presentation was miles better than Chevys presentation.

Not true.  It is on SLT and Denali only.  Not available on lower trims (but they didn't show any lower trims yet).

Not professional grade yet. Have to wait and see what they look like in person. How about 2 toned leather on the seats or accent colored piping stitched in. Just kinda blaa interior. A lot of unnecessary toys ( as usual) to jack the price up. I don't live in my truck. LOL

I am concerned about the carbon fiber bed. We use carbon fiber in some equipment at work and if it cracks or is damaged in any way it's not repairable, throw it away and get new. I hope GM has figured something out or else accidents where bed damage is done will be very expensive.

    • It really is comical when people don’t agree or see the reason some people prefer the older vehicles. They become condescending. All the while they may be busting their knuckles on old vehicles. I have found memories of swapping out engines in my old GM cars in a weekend without much hassle. Unlike today. One wrong move a computer will shut you down. Even on something as easy as a brake job. There’s a pretty comical YouTuber called the car wizard. A garage owner who puts it all in perspective. Another Vicegrip garage that’s shows just how tough the old stuff is.
    • I was around and remember that era very well, so I'm calling b/s on that statement. If they were that bad no police department or taxi company would've bought a single one ... but they were used in both services (and fire) for DECADES. They were bulletproof and proven. Even the early 21st century ones weren't too bad! The early models were legendary.   Mine is proof, but people like atlas are blinded by agenda and refuse to believe facts right before their very eyes.   Even decades after they were built, a new generation started driving them, posting all their builds and shenanigans on Grandmarq.net and Crownvic.net. The failures would show up then, since they all were deep past 100k-150k miles by that point, and younger drivers tend to be a little aggressive, especially with vehicles than can lay a one-tire fire for as long as you hold your foot in it. They've more than proven themselves over the decades.   The only thing that'll really take them out is road salt. The bodies and sheet metal were garbage. A victim of the cheapout FoMoCo and GM have been partaking in before then, and since.   Today it's the stuff that counts - the undercarriage that rots away first!    GMs Caprice was no slouch either. Reliable as a stone ax - the opposite of what they build now.
    • Let me know how your vehicles do in 10 years. You don't know ******, kid. 😂    There's a reason that Panther platform was used as police, fire, and taxi service for DECADES ... long before you were born, apparently.
    • If your connector also has a big lever to get the connector on and off, you don't want to force the lever either way, as it becomes a bigger problem if you bust the lever or the mechanism it works.
    • It's just useful to disconnect the battery to prevent odd shorting out when unplugging/plugging stuff together.  I also  touch the two cable ends together (after disonnecting) to drain the small amount of stored battery energy in various modules.   I believe the main system where you need to be more concerned with, so you need to do the above and then wait some time, iss when you are working on the air bag system, to prevent inadvertent firing of the air bags.   The in-cab switches are just that, plain switches, it's generally not a problem to swap them in/out.  For my '12, I'll get an error message on the dash if I power up the truck w them unplugged, but that's it (power up= turn the ignition on).   The ITBC located above the spare tire is a computer that manages the trailer brake system.  That is probably more important to have the battery disconnected.  It does have to be programmed to the truck, either before or after it's installed, for it to work.  For my '12, I had a very hard time reinstalling the main connector to it (IDK if yours is the same or not), it turned out the silicon seal was jamming up, preventing it from going on all the way.  I finally got it fully installed by lubing the seal with a bit of dielectric grease, then it slid on and latched in place easily.
