I had the check engine light with the reduced power warning message appear on my truck January 8th on the morning. It was about -18 with a wind chill of -48. The Truck also experienced a partially failed fuse block at the same time when I started the truck that morning. You your truck has a problem you will know. The dealer has me drive it into the dealership only ten minutes away. The Truck wild not exceed 30mph and idled like it was on five cylinders instead of 8. You will not miss this problem if it occurs trust me.

Supposed to take 20-25 minutes, mine is scheduled for Friday afternoon, I work next door to the dealership so I can just drop it off and walk back to the office.

The fires were being proceeded by a check engine light and the reduced engine power merge on the dic during idle. Towards the end of the recall notice gm states those two symptoms as indicators as potential exhaust overheating and melting of the surrounding plastics resulting in the fires. My truck has been in the shop since January 8th with a laundry list of recalls and service bookends. Two software updates for the engine. Software update for the tranny. Fuel pump failure service bulletin, rear power window regulator recall, seats clicking/sliding in corners, then the fuse block failure itself where half of the fuse block just lost power for no reason at startup when I got the other warnings. Still looking at least a week or two it before they get a fuse block made and sent from the parts manufacture. Bought the truck in July has 5800 miles and stuff Going wrong everywhere right now. Opened a ticket with gmc also. Parts wait is unacceptable and the number of problems is even worse. Gmc and the dealer has been warned that the 30 day clock here in Ohio was ticking as of January 8th do far not looking good for them. Don't get me wrong the truck was awesome when it worked. I still think it is the best truck on the road. If this doesnt work out and they juice it I am going to end up not getting another truck for several years. I'll go back to a sedan or suv. But not gm. Dont worry no fords, dodges or toyotas will ever be in my garage either Just too many obvious flaws and easily preventable failures right now by gm.

I did. Nothing there from GM. Just checked www.mygmc.com and they said I have no recalls either.

Does it seem like it runs any differently after the updates? Just wondering. My truck runs great now and kinda hesitant to bring it in

Had mine done yesterday morning, truck runs the same as before. No change in MPG either.

Had mine done yesterday afternoon after I called the dealer in the morning. Fix took about 30 minutes and I also found no difference in performance.
