issue RECALL - Fire Risk

Received the recall notice email yesterday, it was in the Spam folder. Called the service department a few minutes ago to set up an appointment and no one answered, not even the front desk person to direct calls. I've had the truck less than 2 weeks, wondering if this is a bad sign for using this dealer's service department.

Mine wasn't on the website either, and I had to call my dealership to find out. I'd recommend calling them with your VIN, or you could just wait to see if they contact you.

 

Yup they contacted me. I got an email not to long after I posted on here lol.

Got the email yesterday. Had time in my schedule today so I stopped by and they updated it.

Appt tomorrow for 3:30pm. GM notice says 25 mins. Dealer says it takes an hour (Probably trying to give themselves a little cushion). Hopefully I'll be out of there by 4:30pm.

Ok, so there is a recall. Big deal. Ever manufacturer has recalls, and some had fire potential.

Lotta GM bashing on the net, wish these idiots would realize my Sierra smoldering on the driveway is still worth more than a new Ford parked in its place.

Nevermind. I cancelled my appointment. I'm taking it back to the dealer who sold me the truck to take care of some other things while it's there.

A family members Honda Fit had a recall... on a fix from another recall.

I received the recall via email last night. But I already knew about this recall thanks to this WEB site. I have an appointment on Friday to get a weather strip replaced on a side window. I will take advantage to get them to work on this recall issue as well.
