I have a custom and it’s not a trailboss , but has a lot of options and I feel the same way ! Why wouldn’t all trucks be sold with the same center console ? I’m fairly certain that almost everyone would prefer the storage over the so called extra seat .That thing is basically an oversized cup holder !

I just received mine last night. It also took some time to arrive. 12 days total. It was not re-boxed, no internal packing material and literally looked like it was thrown off a moving truck more than a few times. I was stunned that the clips remained inside the box as they were just in a small ziplock bag at the bottom of the box. I'm betting this is S.O.P. with all GM Parts websites. IE: slap a shipping label on the GM box and let'er rip. Make sure you check for your clips if you ordered them at the same time. Especially if your box looks like this.

One thing I noticed, the bottom anchor on the seat belt is left loose inside the box and with a lot of getting thrown around, it did cause a few scuffs and scratches on the front plastic. I guess I will live with it as I don't fore see this not happening again. It was pretty dusty and dirty from the almost destroyed box, but nothing a little simple green and compressed air couldn't handle. Watch out on the metal bracket, as it has sharp edges. Overall, it's typical GM parts QA packaging.

I'm just thankful I'll have arm rest storage again.

Hey guys! Im new to the forum. Wife and I just got a new 2019 Custom Silverado yesterday. Loving every second of it so far except for, like you guys, the serious lack of space to store stuff. I googled and found this thread but i was curious if anyone in Canada has ordered the part yet? If so could you maybe provide a direct link for me? Thanks guys!

Edit: I found the part number on page 7 of this thread: #8464-7286 . But is there a Canadian version of gm parts that i can order from? or do i have to go directly through the dealer?

The top armrest does not.

The bottom seat assembly should as it's standard IIRC on the LT trim.

I haven't see the solution on the bottom seat assembly, but I'm betting it's gonna be spendy.

I have been considering this vehicle and saw this post, so I called the dealer. Their service dep't had to get back to me. When Quality Chevy in Escondido, ca  finally got back to me they said the cost including labor was just south of 2 K and they would need the truck for 2 1/2 days

Thank you all for sharing this information! Just got my Custom Trail Boss last Friday and I too was dismayed a t the lack of center console storage. I damn near turned around and took the truck back. Don't want/need all the other options in the LT for the extra price though.I love the truck, but the console and rear wheel well liners are must haves in my opinion. I really appreciate the shared information y'all have provided. Thanks

I agree with you 1000%  !!! I did the same thing. I just Assumed..(yikes, I know), but I went right back and even said I wanted it or I wanted the LT! My sales guy said it would be too much of a paperwork nightmare. So I sucked it up and left. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival off my separate purchase that everyone has recommended. I still LOVE my truck though. ?

sounds like they are quoting you a full center console, not just the seating portion. So basically bench removal and bucket seat w/ console. I would call again and explain its <$400 parts.

I'm just putting my 2 cents in as being annoyed the lesser trimmed models of couirse don't have some features, which is ok, but it is pretty messed up to delete storage on a vehicle.  Of course I'm kinda thinking about getting a Custom Trail Boss next truck, but GM goes and does something like this....  Maybe all the manufactures are doing this, I don't know.  Haven't looked yet.

I don’t think you can I couldn’t, it’s not hard you don’t need to remove it all the way just take out the four bolts and move it just a little out of the way not out completely

Yes it has been done, it requires a re-flash of the ecu, around $100 from the dealer. Which is stated in the link you provided. You will have to factor that into your cost consideration.

    • Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.
    • Point of the post sir was that while both wages and cost are rising EVERYWHERE; the cost is rising faster EVERYWHERE than the ability to buy EVERYWHERE. • Probably a one and done post, but do you have a CEL on the dash? Was having issues with my transmission, fortunately only a week, and it turned out to be the transmission harness. Valve body was in good shape, so new harness with all the sensors attached, new fluid, and filter. Seems to have worked so far?
    • Two interesting tidbits of information which are NOT related were just released.   One, regarding the possible thrust bearing issues / engine failures with the 3.0. Demonworks just did a segment in which they believe they may have found "a" or "the" cause of thrust bearing failures: A missing thrust bearing. If the engine doesn't have all its thrust bearings from the factory, the missing bearing can cause extra play which ends up destroying a nearby thrust bearing which then sends metal through the engine.       Of other importance, Lake Speed Jr released some interest information regarding oil weight selection for the 3.0. Comparisons of:   AcDelco 0w20 Dexos D Mobil 1 ESP x2 0w20 Dexos D Mobil 1 ESP x2 0w30 Mobil 1 ESP x4 0w40. Mobil Delvac 5w40   Spoiler alert: The Mobils are PAO Ester -base and the ACDelco is a Group III base. Mobil shows lower wear in their tests for similar weights. Additive packages between 20-30-40 weight ESP's appear to be the same, but only 0w20 is Dexos D licensed. Wear is even more reduced with 30 and 40 weight ESP although all perform very well and resist shear and provide very similar viscosities within temperature operating ranges in the 3.0.   There are even more surprises, so just go watch it.
    • Hello Guys I'm new to the form,         I just put a 7-inch Rough Country lift on my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 and I also put a Borla exhaust on it. But I noticed when I'm in park or in neutral and then I rev my truck up really quick there is a bad click noise and I think it's coming from the motor somewhere. Anyways I got a video of it I will attach below I was just wondering if you guys think its rod knock or lifter tick or something like that because I know the AFM kind of made the lifters weak on these trucks.       Thanks!!!!!
